Plumline: Chris Van Hollen ties Republicans to the SEC charges against Goldman Sachs
Chris Van Hollen issues the toughest statement yet from Dems tying Republicans to the SEC charges against Goldman Sachs, signling out GOP leaders by name:

“Today’s news that the Security and Exchange Commission is filing fraud charges against a big investment firm is another important reason why we must rein in Wall Street abuses and protect taxpayers. Now, instead of working to pass tough new rules that would prevent these sorts of abuses, Republican leaders Mitch McConnell and John Boehner are wooing Wall Street executives’ support with promises that Republicans will oppose any significant Wall Street reform measures.”

will simply fail to enforce the regs. A lot of the problems leading to this recession can be laid at the door step of the SEC and the CFTB run by the Bush Wrecking Crew. This GS thing is not a lack of Regulations.
