Gallup: ratings "improved since Congress passed healthcare reform legislation"
Edited on Tue Apr-13-10 03:46 PM by ProSense
PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans' approval of the job Congress is doing remains low, at 23%, but has improved since Congress passed healthcare reform legislation.

<...>

The 16% approval rating in March was just two points above the all-time-low 14% approval recorded in July 2008. Even with the significant jump this month, the 23% reading from the new April 8-11 Gallup poll remains well below Congress' 34% historical average approval rating.

In the past month, approval ratings of Congress among self-identified Democrats have surged from 24% to 41%. Independents' ratings also increased, from 13% to 20%. Meanwhile, Republicans' ratings fell significantly, from 14% to 7%.

On edit: "Congress' 34% historical average approval rating"

That's a pretty low average.

1. Congress is the defensive/offensive coordinator of American politics.
If you're an NFL/college football fan, you'll know exactly what I mean by this. They're the whipping boys.

With that said, I still love that more Americans approve of the Democrats than Republicans.

8. The head coach...
Even the most successful teams have their coordinators thrown under the bus when something or another goes wrong.

Obama is the head coach of this Union. He's in his second year of rebuilding. So far, we're exceeding expectations, but not contending for a championship just yet.

2. I truly believe that those numbers...
will go up over the coming months. I don't think that November will be the "blood bath" that a lot of these pundits are proclaiming.

4. And this is before any of the benefits have kicked in. Just
wait until the seniors get their "donut hole" checks in the mail.

Approvals are still low, but they're moving in the right directly for Dems. Hahahahahahahah. Suck it Lieberman.
