Obama's Best and Worst Moves Thus Far
Best: Tapping Utah Governor John Huntsman as Ambassador to China, thus removing from the picture an intelligent, sane Republican who may have posed a threat in '12.

Worst: The gutting of the space program. Call me a child of the Cold War, but I do NOT like the idea of our astronauts having to hitch rides on barely-spaceworthy Russian vehicles!

Three decades hence, the realm that rules the skies, no longer the seas, shall be the realm that rules the world!

But hey, I'm always open to differing opinions: What do you mark as the President's best & worst choices since taking office?

2. At least fucking over Utah wont cost him any electoral votes.
And my vote isn't worth anything, so all I can hope for now is his loss of the 2012 primaries.

3. For me
Best: The Missile Deal with the Russians. I think it proves the strength of diplomacy. Although, a close 2nd would be sending people to Syria to talk with the Syrian Government directly

Worst: The push for Charter Schools. I don't know if he's enamored with them or if it's crappy advise

worst: outdoing shrub and darth cheney by ordering the assassination of an american citizen. "capture or kill" is just semantics.

7. Best and Worst
Passing HCR is a great plus and a "best", but not getting fully involved sooner than in the latter weeks of deliverationsthe (and that thanks to much cajoling by Pelosi) was a mistake. We have ended up with no public option and the bill that became law is mediocre at best. We needed a ball-buster like LBJ.

8. He gutted the space program? Really???
NASA determined the shuttle program's end long before President Obama came along. Furthermore, they got a multi-million-dollar INCREASE in this year's budget. How is that "gutting" the space program? As for sending our astronauts up on Russian vehicles, I guess you missed the part about the contracts with two private contractors, Orbital Sciences Corporation and Space X, who were awarded those contracts in December, 2008--Before President Obama was inaugurated. And, as far as safety goes, let's not forget the two of our own shuttles that blew up.

9. Giving SpaceX and OSC a chance is fine by me.
If that doesn't work out, we could man rate Atlas or Delta. And we can do this:

Canceling the Aries rockets was a smart move. Those things are too expensive. Canceling going back to the moon is fine too. What's the point? Mars is too expensive IMO to do on our own. I'd rather see an international team go instead anyway. Obama is instead proposing missions to places like Phobos or the asteroids and he extends the life of the space station. He's not abandoning the manned space program at all.

10. " barely-spaceworthy Russian vehicles!"? You know that one of the reasons our program is gutted...
is that ours blow up too often, right?
