Huckabee leaning against another presidential run
WASHINGTON — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says he's leaning slightly against running for president in 2012 but says it's far too early to say what he will do.

Huckabee says how the 2010 congressional elections turn out will affect his decision. He also will be looking at whether the Republican Party is willing to unite behind him as a candidate.

Another consideration, Huckabee says, is the status of his weekly TV show on Fox News.

Given those factors, Huckabee says mounting another presidential bid is "less likely rather than more likely" at the moment.

Huckabee finished second in the 2008 race for the GOP nomination. He remains a favorite of evangelical conservatives.

Huckabee appeared on "Fox News Sunday."

1. At least he is honest. He'll be without income if he leaves Fox
What's the deal with 2010? He only wants to run if he has a majority in the Congress? Chicken :-).

2. I think it is the "Palin" factor
He has already said something about the fact Palin wants to be the candidate of the christian right, and he thinks he should be that candidate. I don't really blame him. He has more experience and even though I disagree with him on many issues, way to many, he is more of a "christian" than Palin is. I see Palin as using the religious right for her own gains. I really don't think she cares about anything but coming out on top, and she will use anyone to get there!

Running against her, and then losing the christian right, would probably not be good for his image!

3. You're right. They would have to out-Christian each other
I don't think Palin would hold up in a debate with a field of GOP candidates though. Her little winky-dinky tricks won't go too far imo. She's all sound bites and no substance. Tina Fey will demolish her in 2012.

6. I kinda hope he does.
Along the extremely high ledge of a precipice, for example.

I'm talkin' high.

5. Good, because he has that Reagan ability to make people feel comfortable with their prejudices...
unlike Palin who uses people's prejudices to whip them up into a blood frenzy.
They are both theocratic dirtbags, but Huckabee has the ability to appeal to that mushy middle. Palin does not have that ability.
