39. Yes, sorry, that was me -- nice to see Obama back above water --
and I did admit in that thread in response to a comment that the streams would un-cross within a day or two. And so they have! It WAS a little shocking to see those streams cross for the first time though!

10. Of course he will get a bump when the bill passes.
People like action and effectiveness. They don't really pay attention or care about the process, they only care about results.

It will likely be a temporary bump, hopefully it will last until the mid-terms.

14. When you are out with the people, and giving it your all
it is noted. Our leader must be out and talking directly to us. The last few days have shown that he is not just the cerebral chess master. And though a cool head is what I want in the WH, I also want to see evidence of the fire in the belly.

20. Considering the state of the country today that's nothing short of amazing.
And no, I'm not blaming Obama for that, I'm just saying that Obama must be doing at least a few things well for his approval to be as high as it is given the way things are going.

Or maybe we'll just get to hear more of his incessant predictions of doom in November. :scared:

25. But I don't understand....

FOX news and Karl Rove told me that the passage of this bill was going to destroy the Obama presidency?

Just a few days ago, Obama had sunk to 46%. I was told by Hannity that Democrats and Obama were doomed.

Are you guys telling me that I was lied too? LOL!

35. Thanks for posting, jen
The better the popularity, the more incentive for him to push for a public option and other important fixes. I heard he may take up the public option again next year; let's hope that now that the big bill will likely pass, he'll be more forceful on the PO.

And he mixed the #s up, saying Obama's approval went up 4 points and disapproval went down 3, which he got backwards. But it sounded even better! :D

46. expect another bounce upward
with the signing ceremony. The polls have been overread by republicans and the pundits. While most the people I know wanted something a bit larger passed, the larger problem they had was that the process had been too ugly for far too long. Some held the President to blame for the length and divisiveness of the process. Now that the process is done with a victory in hand, their support will return.
