"Barack the Unbreakable"
This is why the GOP has been so worried about the passage of HCR. They know damn well passage HCR will not break the Dems or Obama, and they're terrified it will do exactly the opposite.

Could Obama be Invincible?

As we stand at the verge of the historic vote on the health care bill — a signature piece of President Obama’s agenda — it feels appropriate to take a look at how he has fared during the long slog that got us here. My quick assessment: remarkably well.

First, let’s take his job approval rating. Yes, it slid during the summer, but it stabilized around 50 percent in November and has hovered there ever since.

The empty-headed chattering class began another round of speculation and inane analysis this week when his approval rating dropped to 46 percent, its lowest yet. Silly pundits.

<SNIP>

Regardless of whether the health care bill survives, Obama has demonstrated that he can. And if the reform bill passes, and his numbers rebound, I’m going to take to calling him Barack the Unbreakable.

1. His articulateness causes spotting. His fury spoils their drawers.
That HCR was dead, and then a month of Obama central, and voila, it is. They are afraid that our mojo will be workin hard. I say, bust a hump. Lets roll.

5. Poll numbers are driven by the narrative
Right now, the media narrative is conflict, controversy, partisanship. We're in the middle of a battle. But just as approval ratings soar when a war is over, if Obama wins this round, his approval numbers are going to get a comfortable boost. The narrative will suddenly shift from "Dems in disarray," and "Obama's failed year" (the narratives since the Brown victory) to exactly what the OP is: "Obama the invincible," "tenacity," "resurrection," etc.

Americans like winners. If Obama looks strong and if he triumphs at the end of this epic legislative battle, he will benefit enormously.
