There was a period around the Easter Egg Hunt last spring when she always seemed unhappy in pictures and it wasn't clear whether she was having trouble being a semi-public figure or what. But the latest batch -- this and Halloween and the Thanksgiving food pantry ones -- all show her smiling. It's good to see.

I find that very reassuring; a man who gets along this well with his Mother-in-Law,

in the past fifty years or more who has actually gone out and mingled with the public as casually as Obama does. This is just so impressive. He attends a game like a normal person.

And it is nice to see him sitting right next to his mother in law. What a family.
