clout illinois style-durbin ,obama, quinn. "illinois the next gitmo"?
will state supermax prison in thompson ,il be sold to the feds and would gitmo prisoners be transferred there? it seems the republican rep manzullo and republican wannabe be senator kirk are having a hissy fit but the locals want the prison opened

rethugs view...

http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/clout_st/2009/11/republican-us-senate-candidate-mark-kirk-no-gitmo-transfer-to-western-illinois-prison.html

thompson is around 45 miles from where i live .thompson is known for melon farms and fishing so it was a really big deal when the state was supposed to open the prison in 2001 but never did. people lost a lot of money when the prison never opened when they invested in gas stations, restaurants, and other business.

the federal prosecutor in northern illinois is fitzgerald

1. What happened to upstate Michigan?
It would create hundreds of jobs. Or did Republicans successfully demagogue it away?

2. Oh, goodie.
Manzullo doesn't want it. The residents of Thompson do want it. Manzullo has an opponent for his Congressional seat. Maybe we can finally get rid of that stupid Manzullo.

7. No, moved for school.
May end up back there if things don't start looking up, but I changed my voter reg so technically the Hon. Tim Johnson is my rep, not Don Manzullo.

5. I'm going to ask George Gaulrapp right now.
He is Manzullo's opponent. I have his email addy. He attended our Democratic Central Committee meeting in Ogle County last Thursday.

Maybe we can get some Democratic votes out of the Thompson area.
