1. Cancel the Show. Put the crashers in prison.
.... would be my answer.

I've been around enough hanger-oners in my time to know that we are way overdue to have an example made of a couple of them. ;)

2. Granted no harm this time. But what if it wasn't so harmless?
Should we ask why Obama isn't getting better protection.

Let's flip this. What if that couple had crashed a party during the Bush Administration?

6. I didn't hear that or see that. where was that. It isn't like Bravo isn't
going to miss a New cutting edge reality show...

My wife only watches 4 things on that network

West Wing repeats.

Project Runway repeats

America's net top Model repeats

and Top Chef.

Everything else makes her want to throw up.

Edited on Sat Nov-28-09 12:02 AM by Clio the Leo
.... not the whole series, just the DC spin-off.

Don't let them off easy IMO.

Did you see the couple's facebook photos? This type of celeb-chasers are the bottom feeders of the entertainment world.

20. I still don't understand how they can be in a show about D.C. housewives
while they live in Virginia. Aren't there housewives in D.C.? Or are they not "glamorous" enough or outrageous enough? I don't know what the requirements are for this show.

4. Not Cool..
<snip>

Washington (CNN) -- The Virginia couple accused of crashing President Obama's first White House state dinner on Tuesday are named in at least 16 different civil suits in Fauquier County, sometimes as plaintiffs, sometimes as defendants.

A trawl through court records on Thursday revealed a more complete picture of Tareq and Michaele Salahi, who have left an extensive paper trail in federal bankruptcy and state court filings.

The couple was spotted rubbing elbows with the likes of Vice President Joe Biden and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel at Tuesday's dinner, but the Secret Service says they were not invited.

A Secret Service checkpoint "did not follow proper procedures" to determine if the two were on the guest list, said Edwin M. Donovan, a Secret Service special agent, in a statement.

The incident represents a security breach for the White House at the Obama administration's biggest social event to date. More than 300 guests, including Cabinet members, diplomats and Hollywood celebrities, attended the dinner in honor of visiting Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Silver lining..a lesser price to pay to make sure they follow All Procedures to the TEE.

5. On the bright side
These harmless publicity hounds exposed a weakness that might be exploited by someone with malicious intent. It won't happen again.

9. Guess that's what is meant by "Blondes have more fun".....
Cause I guess when one is that pale and beautiful, no one asks you for your ID.
Call it Blonde priviledge I guess. Some don't know how well they have it.

13. My ex is a security guy for a musical group you'd know of......
Edited on Sat Nov-28-09 12:20 AM by Clio the Leo
..... and I am ...... suffice it say ..... someone who looks they should be um ..... yeah .... you know what I mean.

Anyway, I saw first hand time and time again that if you LOOK like you're supposed to be going where you're going, no one will question it. No one ever stopped him because he LOOKS like he's supposed to be backstage. .... Now I always went as his guest and the group always welcomed him because they WANTED him there whether his name was on a list or not.

But *I* never took any liberties ..... and when I was backstage, or at hotels or in limos or what have you, I didn't bother anyone or anything. And I was always happy to leave because I preferred spending with my boyfriend more than entouraging.

But there is a whole subculture of parasites who cant become famous themselves, so they make a hobby out of rubbing elbows with people more fabulous than they. That's who these people are, I'm sure. They certainly look the part. Smarmy like you wouldn't believe. One of the saddest things I've ever seen was some woman roaming the hotel halls fairly late at night asking me if I knew where so and so's room was.

And .... as usual Frenchie, you're exactly right in what you're saying.

The fact that these social catfish have taken liberty at the White House, makes my skin crawl.

18. +1
My conversations with those who are not blonde and/or of other races have stated they doubt they could have gotten away with crashing a White House event.

14. Exactly, THIS time it was harmless
I'd make an example of these people and fire Secret Service involved. Honestly, I am so very tired of attention whores willing to do any and everything to possibly get 15 mins of fame. If it was possible to force cancellation of the show, I'd definitely do that as that's really hitting them where it hurts. A lesson needs to be taught and well. A line has been crossed.

This event alarmed me greatly, the first thing I thought of was all the unhinged Beckerheads out there that adore Glenn BecKKK. This President needs better security than past Presidents, not more lax.

17. in the bush presidency, if there were a breach like this, would we have heard about it?
think.

there have been multiple times where we hear about SS breakdowns in security, while campaigning, as president.
There has been rhetoric from the teabaggers about what they want to do. These reports tell them its POSSIBLE.

very dangerous stuff, if you think about it.

19. And it's not the first time they've been photographed with Obama
They were photographed in at least one other incident while he was senator.

All they have to do is whip out that picture, along with the oft used "Do you know who I am?" mantra.

21. I know it is only TV but.. at the end of the second season of "24"
an woman - who, at the first episode bombed an airplane - managed to get around to shake the hand of "President David Palmer." She apparently had some kind of a poison on her gloved hand that he collapsed but survived to appear in the third season.

So I could not help thinking about this as I was watching her shaking his hand. Holding his hand, as a matter of fact, in both hands.

They did go through the metal detector but could they have smuggled another chemical that would not have a metal component but still be lethal? Like... ricin?

It is just so incredible that someone would do this and be so proud about it. And... had they not bragged on Facebook no one would have known. Maybe. Now AP has photos of them too but would anyone from the White House would have looked at all the photos to try to identify everyone?
