Awe MAN! MSNBC has Matthews, Chuck-Toad and What's her face! No KO, No Rachel-doing "Anal-Ass-Cyst"
Edited on Thu Feb-25-10 09:23 PM by FrenchieCat
Opens with McCain's triatribe, full length!

Some folks will be happy,
but I see where this is going
in the first 5 minutes.

I'm gonna have to turn it off.

1. McCain is rude, out of touch with his constitutents, boring,
and stupid. Very very stupid. Unfortunately, he's my senator.

Now Chuck-Toad talking about the McCain-Obama "relationship"...

not a word about health care and Americans yet.

Wish Keith were available tonight to challenge Tweety and Toad, but I'm guessing KO is where he needs to be.

His special comment about his father last night wiped me out.

And you're right. Chuckles continues and finds it curious why Obama just "dismissed" McCrypt's whining. Now Tweety's chirping about how Obama referred to them by first name. Ugh...

37. Perhaps because he hoped it would help people drop their guards and
make the conversation more casually sincere. Had he called them all Senator, the formality would seem more adversarial.

That HE was called "Mr. President" makes sense... because he, um. IS. : ). Imagine part of the meeting if everyone was calling him "Barack". That would have been weird.

He is the President, CIC and leader of this country, so he's sort of the boss. I for one am thankful for that. Imagine if it were President McCain, instead... I don't think we'd be concerned about who was calling whom what. Well, maybe some would. I'd be too terrified and stuck in a cruel high risk health pool I couldn't afford. Sadly, I wouldn't be stuck there too long...

...help...

Because it is obvious that Health Care will not be discussed.....
just the same ass petty stuff the Washington Beltway discuss.

So in fact, the Corporate media weren't really interested in this Summit,
not that I thought they were, but they could have faked it a bit better.

44. that's my guess, too. My heart and hugs go out to both.
I'm a loyal fan, and while I appreciate KO's commentary, a rare respect for factual accuracy, I most appreciate his honest and compassionate advocacy against unfairness and pain at the hands of the selfish, greedy, powerful and thoughtlessly cruel.

I have great respect for anyone who recognizes and uses his/her far-reaching platform to make a difference to those of us many others so adamantly (and publicly seem to view us as disposable and undeserving.

(Of course I'm assuming these things - I don't know the guy personally, but he's definitely a fave).

Whoever (was it Malkin?) said KO was using his dad as an "excuse" or a prop.... can go wade in the orca pool. Sorry that was mean. Orcas don't deserve such cruelty. If I hadn't already boycotted FOX, I think that's her venue.... I'd do it now.

Godspeed to KO and family.

Anyone with half a brain cell would know that was not going to happen, must be leftovers from when the press loved the moderate myth of McCain.

Keith Olbermann Off Tonight Following Last Evening's Special Comment
By Kevin Allocca on Feb 25, 2010 04:40 PMKeith Olbermann will not co-host the special edition of "Countdown" on MSNBC tonight as previously announced. Instead, Chris Matthews will host a special "Hardball" with Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie.

Last evening, Olbermann delivered this difficult special comment, which he began by saying, "Last Friday night, my father asked me to kill him."

Olbermann said his hospitalized father had not awoken since that day and that he is prepared for the possibility his father will not recover. "If he does not recover you will not see me here for a while," Olbermann said. We're told he is with his father this afternoon.

talking heads started in, but I've been sticking with it and I have to say that the tone is VERY pro-President Obama and is not what I thought it was going to be AT ALL.

I am not a Tweety or Toad fan and I have never even seen Savannah Guthrie before but I believe that they ALL have been exploring the good and the bad on both sides of the aisle in this "summit", PLUS they have been very positive about the President and how he showed he was in charge and was totally knowledgeable about everything that came up.

They just played President Obama stepping all over Dr. John Barrasso's head by cooly and calmly informing the doctor that he doesn't know what he's talking about when he tries to say that the average American will benefit from a health savings account.

All in all, I give it a B+

Granted, I would rather have had Rachel, but this has been just fine.

tonight because I wanted to see how they played it. Initially I was pissed that they were the dynamic duo plus Savannah, but she held her own even though Tweety would try to talk over her--surprise.

The analysis, if viewed by an independent, IMO would have been highly favorable to the Dems and President Obama.

Okay, I'll leave it at that.

The fact that you don't appreciate Rachel gives us a clue,

As for dismissing Sen. Harkin, Harkin himself appears not to have a problem with
