I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving...
It is an American tradition from way back, and is a great day for family and friends...both of which I consider all of you.

Who can do it better than Norman Rockwell...and a few others:D

3. Me too... My mother helps.. and she got just a little carried away this
year.. We have 12 coming.. So I have a 12 pound turkey, and she is making an 18 pound ham..That is 30 pounds of meat for 12 people..2 of who are vegetarians..

Reminds me of that movie..My Big Fat Greek Wedding, when the aunt asks.. "What do you mean you don't eat no meat.. thats okay I'll make lamb"

5. From the Onion: Grandma Concerned About Dinner Roll Count...
ROCKFORD, IL—Local grandmother Eileen Stafford, 78, expressed concern Monday over the number of dinner rolls she should have on hand for this year's Thanksgiving meal, appearing distressed when discussing the implications of there being either too many or possibly too few.

On a recent trip to the supermarket, Stafford reportedly purchased a package of 12 enriched white dinner rolls that was on sale for $1.89, and has since remained torn over whether a second package is necessary.

"They're a little small, and I don't want anyone to go hungry," said Stafford, carefully removing the rolls from the grocery bag to examine them more closely. "Of course, I can always give mine away if there's someone who doesn't get enough."

11. Pie......
Edited on Thu Nov-26-09 05:13 PM by Clio the Leo
GIVING THANKS: The first family is hosting some 50 friends, family and staff for Thanksgiving dinner, according to the pool, which also reports President Obama's favorite holiday dishes are turkey and pumpkin pie.
Tonight's menu...
Turkey
Honey-Baked Ham
Cornbread Stuffing
Oyster Stuffing
Greens
Macaroni and Cheese
Sweet Potatoes
Mashed Potatoes
Green Bean Casserole
Banana Cream Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie
Sweet Potato Pie
Huckleberry Pie
Cherry Pie

As for me? I had no pie. I broke the pie crust for my lemon meringe last night and we all agreed we had enough food for today that we could spare the pie.

But suddenly, I am overcome with jealousy. ........ but I am also very full.

ahhh .... well that was enough activity for now .... back to sleep I go!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at DU!!!!!
