Selective lecturing on "campaign promises"-- Afghanistan (cheer) vs. Gitmo (crickets chirping)
It's so wonderful to be lectured on the keeping of campaign promises involving the Afghan War (ie "he told you he would escalate") while ignoring his promise to close Gitmo immediately upon assuming the presidency.

That stuff gets old, and it's the kind of attitude that loses elections. You know very well that war has not been popular with the Democratic base since at least Vietnam. Don't be surprised if this one comes back to bite us in the rear.

1. You REALLY thought he was saying he was going to close it on January 21st?

Seriously? Like all of the detainees out of there and on the road to ..... somewhere......

what made you think that? (An actual cited source would be dandy.)

If he hadn't signed the order on January 22nd, you'd have a point.

2. He promised to close it, and then said it would be (by executive order) by January 2010

4. Without the funding, since Congress wouldn't give it to him,
it might take a tad longer, but it appears that he is emptying the place out,
still......
