Will the public option be part of Obama's health care reform bill?
I haven't seen any mention of it in the context of the new push for it in Congress. It would seem that this effort was timed to mesh with the President's bill and that's why it is happening so rapidly now.

It would be good to have a coordinated, coherent approach...

1. I was rather doubtful given the ultimate outcome of the Senate Bill
However, things seem to be looking up all of the sudden. Hopefully it will happen.

2. Obama himself talked about logic in terms of the HCR efforts
back when he was running for the Senate, circa 2004, he said that "Single Payer Universal Health Care is the only logical solution to the health care crisis. And to get there, all that we will need is a majority in the House and the Senate, and a Democrat in the Oval Office."

Of course that was before whatever happened to him happened. Before the Big Money interests put a cahs register where a human heart would be.

3. Obviously no word on this from the WH, but there's no push back on it either....
.... and it's on that lack of push back that I hang my hat. (You'll also noticed that none of those in favor of it are calling on the WH to support it which is what you'd expect if they KNEW the WH didn't.)

4. Thanks, Clio.I like your reasoning. It makes sense.
It is encouraging to me. I really hope the Senate Dems are growing a spine. What the hell did they think they were doing before?

I think the WH is waiting for some sign and I think they are getting it. The people get it; they always got it. Polling was 70% of the American people for the public option! HELLO!
