1. I'm not either. It's only a tiny handful who apparently are eitherGOP or want to be
The rest never threw him under the bus, the train, or anywhere. The rest love the man.

You know as well as I that it is not that people like the GOP better than Obama, and most that are critical don't hate Obama at all. They just see that he is not the kind of change he promised.

And as far as it being "a small handful", no post today has hit the 250 mark that this

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=7077881&mesg_id=7077881

did yesterday. Seems apparent that DU is split at least, if not even more along the dissapointed spectrum?

60. No, I don't know that as well as you. In fact, I don't know that at all
What I DO know is what I'm hearing. Whiners, infants, weepy gripers, bitchers, all because they didn't get EVERYTHING, and IMMEDIATELY.

Never mind that:

(1) Obama inherited a gigantic depression after decades of right wing extremist policies
(2) Never mind that Obama inherited the post-9/11 U.S. and that Islamic threat is not something in our imaginations, but we lived it (people I know DIED in 9/11)
(3) NEVER MIND THAT HE HAS ACCOMPLISHED A GREAT DEAL EVEN WITH THIS SHIT ECONOMY
(4) Never mind that the whining Dems do absolutely nothing to support and move forward Obama's policies, other than sitting on their fat behinds and whine

I'm tired of whiners, frankly.

I saw the same whining Dems during the time that Hillary Clinton was trying to move forward a health initiative to provide everyone with a health plan. They just sat and whined and whined, allowing the GOP to massacre her.

And the same style whiners are doing the same thing now.

In my opinion, the whiners are no better than any GOPer.

And THAT is what I DO know.

67. the Left IS NOT SUPPOSED to denigrate the fears of people I see alot of FEAR
& uncertainty going on in thread titles & posts. We as a Nation are quite large & the direction we are going in has been nightmarish. I truly hope we ARE changing direction. It is good to read what he HAS done, everwhere I look I see anxiety & uncertainty & fear. I've been watching people for a long time, & I think only a fraction of the "anti-Obama crowd" on the Left are Righties in disguise, they feel their fortune is tied to Obama's, & the tv news is all very stressful. Strange that I am writing this, but there you go.

I guess my post questioning the labor statistics today was something where nobody would learn anything...or my post yesterday saying the President has a difficult decision to make in Afghanistan and we should all pray he gets it right.

I generally post news articles on economic issues. I think the last shit stirring post I made was a week ago where I told the pep squad to relax the Senate Bill is going to pass unless Lieberman decides to become a Republican.

Oh and 90% of my economic OPs sink.

But the fact is, you are whining that people are speaking out for peace while you favor a huge escalation of a Bush fiasco. Any political position involving the lives of others really should be based on something more than an individual political leader. It is revoltingly trivializing to the reality of war. A reality you have never and will never see. A Bush war, only more. Rah Rah.

the welfare of either The American people or The Troops.

I honestly believed that he'd use his intelligence for Good Works. That after he studied his military history, that he'd scale back and withdraw troops.

Especially after there's less than 100 rag tag al Quaeda in Afghanistan.

All I can conclude is that President Obama supports the corporations that are becoming bloated and filthy rich by billions if not a trillion dollars ... on what? On weapons and armament and KILLING. All that is death and destruction.

And President Obama is going to turn UP the USA KILLING MACHINES ... the most powerful in the World on the native peoples of Afghanistan.

Now tell me again how in the HELL we are going to win "the hearts and minds?"

Obama has come into office after the country has had 8 years of abuse by bushcheney..The President gets some time to clean. it. up.

"History is Not a Dirty Word"

By Eric Alterman | November 19, 2009

"Last week, Mike Allen and Jim Vandehei at Politico reported that the White House planned on making deficit reduction a centerpiece of the next State of the Union address. Allen and Vandehei called the decision “practical” saying that “Obama has spent more money on new programs in nine months than Bill Clinton did in eight years, pushing the annual deficit to $1.4 trillion. This leaves little room for big spending initiatives.” This fact is taken completely out of the context of the recession. The title of the article refers to the White House's “spending binge.” The deficits, tax cuts, and spending of the previous administration are ignored entirely.

It’s not exactly news that most members of MSM are almost purposely amnesiac. There is no greater insult to a reporter than to call his story “history.” And yet once upon a time, it was only yesterday that was old news. Nowadays, with the new neverending cable/talk-radio/blogosphere-driven news cycle, we are all supposed to have forgotten the past fifteen minutes. (There is actually a headline on the Drudge Report as I write this that the Associated Press went to the trouble of looking at the record and seeing whether any of the outrageous claims made in Sarah Palin’s memoir are true. The idea appears to be if it says so in a book, it’s wrong of a journalist to actually check the record. The (surprise, surprise) Fox News story contains no link to the AP story, further making the point that the record is really irrelevant to the story.)

So back to Obama’s “spending binge.” Even if the Politico editors are not interested in what may have happened in the past eight years to cause some of the deficits with which the Obama administration is forced to deal, we are. And here are just a couple of examples we found:

snip//

Afganistan: The legacy of Bush’s runaway military spending and his tax cuts is doing more than just destroying the fiscal health of our government—it is also endangering our security. Look at Afghanistan. According to a recent report in The New York Times, “Some administration estimates suggest it could also cost up to $50 billion over five years to more than double the size of the Afghan army and police force, to a total of 400,000. That includes recruiting, training and equipment.”

David Broder, dean of the national press corps, has actually written that Obama’s “urgent necessity is to make a decision—whether or not it is right.” That is how far we’ve come. Never mind that six years of a failed strategy by the Bush administration, to say nothing of rushing into a catastrophic war, and busting the budget with a giveaway to the rich tax cut, should be considered in the context of the decision. “Just do something” says Broder, regardless of whether it makes sense. Learn nothing from history. Repeat our mistakes over and over, regardless of the cost in blood and treasure to our country and our soldiers. Forget not only Iraq, but Vietnam as well."

I can't remember this much vitriol for Clinton at this time in 1993. Was there? And he was elected by a minority.

Maybe it's the internet. I find it hard to believe some of these posters voted for Obama.

68. But the TRUE point is that Congress has abdicated it's responsibility to DECLARE WAR.

This should NOT be President Obama's decision AT ALL.

These low level conflicts, the most recent ones (Iraq, Afghanistan) have only served to bleed a TRILLION tax dollars into the hand of War Profiteering Privatized Contractors.

We KILL soldiers, "insurgents" and innocents ... and for what? To prop up the corrupt government of Karzai who will FOREVER be, at most, *The Mayor of Kabul.*
