Big Ed and Ron Christie, a perfect example of.....
Big Ed and Ron Christie, a perfect example of why all of our "fighting" here doesn't bother me that much.

I spend half of the time aggravated at Ed. I watch him because he has the best guests on, most notably members of Congress, of both parties. They drop by to talk about the legislation du jour.

But A LOT of the time, I want to just shake him really hard! lol .... He's shouting and screaming and bloviating about what he feels the President is doing wrong on any given day. (I never have a problem with criticism of the President, but I dont like what I perceive to be constant, uninformed criticism, and he dances all over that line sometimes.)

But tonight he had Ron Christie on ... you know, the little weasel former staffer for Dick Cheney that is on a lot of MSNBC's shows. They were talking about Michelle Bachmann and her latest psycho episode. Ron went off on a tangent about the poor, "strong" conservative women who were being "abused" by the press. He mentioned some article that made reference to Bachmann's makeup.

(I've never heard heard much negative press about Kaye Bailey Hutchison, I suspect that has something to do with the fact that, unlike Palin and Bachmann, she's not a fruit cake. I also have MAJOR problems with defensive cries of "sexism" in honor of Conservative women who represent a party that has NEVER made fair treatment of women a priority. We wont even GET into the mistreatment of Mr. Christie's particular demographic group by the party he has chosen to be a member of.)

Anyway ..... Christie was going "wah! wah! wah!!!!!" and Ed just lit into him. Took him to the proverbial woodshed. Watch the video if you can find it. (It's not on his site yet.)

And just like that .... my Ed frustration was gone! I instantly went from an Obama cheerleader to a pom pom girl on Big Ed's squad.

Why? Because ..... despite our infighting, we ALWAYS have a common enemy. It's easy to forget that now because we're so strong and our enemy is over in the corner liking its wounds .... but it'll be back .... I dont know about "stronger than ever" ..... but it'll be back and it will be going for our jugular.

And then we'll all be huddled in the tent together.

So as we rain hell fire upon one another's heads starting next Tuesday lol, just remember.... this too shall pass.

22. No, he's not, but I get asked that a lot.
Jack's a Brussels Griffon. I usually refer to the movie "As Good As It Gets" when I'm asked... It's an unusual breed and I wasn't aware of it, either, until my previous pup found me. :-)

5. Good one, Clio. I am perfectly comfortable
with disagreeing with someone when they're uniformed and just want to rant but when they come up with something worthwhile then I will give them proper respect.

Like tweety the twins.

10. Back at'cha Atticus!
:fistbump:

Now ... START AGREEING WITH ME!!!!!! lol

Here's a query for you that I was thinking about the other day ..... Barack Obama, the real life Atticus Finch? ..... Discuss!

(I was thinking about that line from "To Kill a Mockingbird" the other day at the end when the neighbor tells Scout, "I dont know if this will make you feel any better, but there are people put on this earth to do our unpleasant jobs for us. Your father is one of those men.")

9. Thank you.
As someone who supports Big Ed and as a former Obama state delegate. I'm on Obama quite a bit. I have some of the same frustrations as Ed. But we all know who our opposition is.

12. I think my problem is I'm not one to bash the family in public....
... which is not to say someone else CANT, but *I* dont. So my lack of criticism probably comes off as cheering. I'm a "good yellow dog Democrat" and part of how I define that is I'm not apt to criticize another Democrat openly. I've written letters to the Ed Show when my frustration with him became too much. But I dont envision myself creating a thread here where I'd "bash" him.

That is ESPECIALLY the case when I believe the Democrat in question is smarter than the average bear.

And I think that's something we'd all agree on ..... the President is a bit more capable of handling the task at hand than probably anyone else we've seen in our lifetime.

For some of us, that translates into frustration. For others, it translates into patience.

11. And then he said Obama's going to lose a second term
over Afghanistan and I was ready to smack him again.

Why can they not just make their case without fueling a fire against the only chance we're going to have at a second term. Just Stupid.

13. Well, there's a reason why the President refers to cable news as....
.... "pro wrestling."

They say a lot of what they say to keep our attention. That's important to keep in mind.

19. Maybe because it's an educated guess
It doesn't take a TV blowhard to know that Obama has betrayed his base at nearly every turn; and that with an LBJ-like escalation in Afghanistan it will provoke an LBJ-like rejection by the country he leads. I honestly see Obama pulling an LBJ shock-announcement that he will not run again if things continue down the current path on issue after issue. Trying to please everybody - he has alienated everyone. (No, not literally everyone, but this president has done a better Jimmy Carter than Jimmy Carter.) One term and out.

Cuss me out all you want -- I feel betrayed in so many ways I can no longer keep a tally.

16. Yep
Good ol' Ed - I can't hate him because he was a ray of shining light during the darkest days of the Bush regime. He does have a habit of doing what Olbermann makes fun of the Republicans about, TURNING THE VOLUME UP as if that somehow makes his point better.
