K&R if you wish McCain and Palin had won in 2008

From the criticism Obama has been getting from the DU, I expect a lot K&Rs.

Can you not see the difference between wishing for mccain and criticizing bad policies?

This place is damn nutty today.

I'm pointing out the fact that some DUers can't.

Maybe not you specifically, but have you seen some of the posts lately?

The don't act like it, they specifically SAY that Obama and the Dems are no better for America than McCain/Palin and a Rep Congress.

Really? Then K&R this post so we can know who you are.

8. he DESERVES criticism for sure, but folks are talking about...
kicking the Dems out of Congress in 2010. Unless there's another major progressive party waiting in the wings, that seems a bit drastic and unproductive.

You have your choice between McCain and Bush 3. Currently the board is giving me the vibe that it's all about McCain.

Newsflash is that some of us are objective about things...some of his work has had a good impact or is at least a good start and some of his accomplishments signal that he really needs to stop acting like "Republican Lite".

"All too easy" to be a monochromatically viewed asshole who most likely has gotten every thing he voted for in the past 8 years and now feels like "fucking with the opposition."

18. Nope, but consider the alternative reality

Obama DESERVES criticism:

Don't ask, Don't tell
Geither's involvement on anything!
Land Mine ban.
Where's the green economy?
etc.

But are we really that upset/disappointed with the Dems/Obama that we honestly think:

1) there would be no difference if the 2008 outcome was different.
- Some DU folks have actually said this!
2) life would be better in 2010 if the Dems lost Congress
- again, some DU folks have actually said this!

Maybe not you specifically, but there seems to be a lot of DU folks who have taken criticism to abandonment.

That was my intended msg.

10. The "lesser of 2 Evils" Argument is always a Bogus Choice....
If Obama can not or will not end CIA torture prisons then he is no better then McCain in my eyes.

If Obama can not or will not bring our troops home then he is no better then McCain in my eyes.

If Obama can not or will not stop throwing money at the wealthy bankers then he is no better then McCain in my eyes.

If Obama can not or will not give us real - REAL - health care reform then he is no better then McCain in my eyes.

If Obama can not or will not actively seek to end discrimination against our gay brothers and susters - in marriage, in the military and in the government then he is no better then McCain in my eyes.

Maybe things have got to get even worse before people really get up , turn off TIVO, and start to make a REAL difference.

So maybe we need to let things get worse - before they'll get better

41. McCain/Palin would have...

Expanded the prisons

Sent 60-80 thousand more trips to Afghanistan already

Given the bankers more money, shot down Cash for Clunkers, made no plans to let the Bush tax decreases expire for Americans making over $250K, vetoed the stimulus, and never created a new home buyer's tax credit.

shot down any - ANY - form of health care reform and/or given insurance companies more tax relief

and God knows what other offenses.

As for the LGBT community's concerns, no difference.

24. Answer: I royally disagree. The point I'm trying to make is...

...there's criticism and then there's abandoment.

Some DU folks have ACTUALLY said:

a) things would not be any different if McCain won in 2008
b) Dems losing in 2010 would be a good thing.

Huh?! That's where I'm getting at.

Obama DESERVES criticism. I have my list of offenses and incomplete works. I'm sure you have yours. I still support him, because Holy Fucking Feces, have you seen the other side?!

Your either a republican or an anti-republican. Plus they don't want you, especially if you can't pass their "purity" test. It's not just Democrat vs. Republican, it's Everyone vs. a religious RW political propaganda party that wants you to obey and comply to their way of thinking on not just national policy issues but social and ethical issues as well. You don't have to make up your own mind, they will make it for you. They are anti-progressives, and they love class warfare.

I'm not talking about the critical supporters, but the ones who just want to abandon the guy and the Dems. That's batshit crazy when compared to the alternative. Some DUers have actually suggested, no make that stated, that an Obama 2008 loss would have resulted in the same WH...on EVERYTHING.
