An illegitimate conversation
Edited on Wed Nov-25-09 01:31 PM by Hutzpa
I don't normally do this, most of the time I'm out here having fun, I do not claim to be an aspire writer, journalist or represent any corporate entity, this is about Hutzpa and his feelings and what I believe in, I'm not here to redirect traffic to another site, neither I'm I here to propagate any organization or corporations agendas, I am not owned by anyone but the desire to our
Democratic ideals met by those who claimed to represent the people, hence my name.

There is this consensus among ourselves of finding a way to denigrate or degenerate people
on this forum (depending on your frame of thinking)for supporting a sitting Democratic
President, some has gone as far as referring to those supporting the President as cheerleaders.

One has to wonder where all this anger and hate is coming from, considering how far we have come
from the Bush's era.

Let reminisce for a second of how it use to be here on this site before the influx, for me I actually found this place by accident, (as most here would attest to) I remember watching the news and there was some discussion about Democrats supporting the war and how you can help donate to removed those Dems from office, remember the anger, anyway, long story short I found this site by googling to make a donation, at first I wasn't sure and it took me something like 16 - 18 months to decide until Michael Moore came along with 9/11 which helped reinforced my conviction.

I remember all the agitation from all or most of us back then, it was a solid consensus then, there where people organizing, there where information everywhere, people where excited and happy to finally find a community they can relate to and don't have to travel distances to meet with democrats alike, instead you're seating at home communicating on the tubes about your burning desires, how great is that(?) it was the beginning of something new, Democrats from all corners coming together to fight for one course, remember that(?) there where fun discussion, comedy, and the usual bile thrown at Bush, but one thing I must add though is that, these where never about hate, it was more about Bush's job performance, which is different from what I'm seeing now, back then things where thrown at Bush in a form of a satire, no one cares about having their feelings hurt, no one cares about finding that person to make them pay for embarrassing me or disagreeing with me, NO..nothing like the amount of vile you see being thrown, everybody was a PROGRESSIVE/LIBERAL Democrats, back then you can tell who belongs here and who doesn't, how times have changed.....

Which brings me to today, what do we have(?) a site that has gone from those wonderful days to the most inane in discussion, I must admit, there are times when I have fallen into that arena of throwing bile back (but it stops there)because you asked yourself how can this person say that considering we are all here fighting the same fight? There is post after post degrading the efforts made by this President and his administration, people complaining about what he has not accomplished instead of focusing on the things he has done within these 10 months, more than what Bush ever accomplished, the sad truth is people are here moving these discussion in that direction about Obama not accomplishing anything.....What??? on this site????

One thing I will conclude on though is that, Republicans knows how to destroy something tangent, they are masters of diving into wedge issues and throwing everyone off track and I can see the same happening here too, think about this for second, before no one cares about saying the word (FUCK) today, I see post insinuating that the word classy is an offensive word...wow, people get offended on the slightest of disagreement, their feelings have been hurt, when did progressives get to that stage, before folks here would debate you and make you look silly just for having those thoughts, they can also back it up with solid research, not some bogus blog or website looking for traffic, one would think that being a Progressive Democrats is about living freely in a free world economy where the middle class is not getting screwed by the 1%.

In conclusion, a quote from the man himself....."The greatest voice is the voice of the people, let that voice speak and the stillness you hear will be the gratitude of mankind" President Obama.
