Las Vegas would be a piss-stop on the way to L.A. if it weren't for gambling.
And if you're going to embrace that, you've got to accept that you'll be used as an example for financial irresponsibility.

Get the fuck over it.

29. Those brothels outside LV, are probably the WORST place for sexcursions
seriously, all activities at those brothels are covered, can you imagine covered oral sex?...What's the point..

Just my opinion, if you're going to see a call girl, see a very high end one, preferably an adult film star, exchange STD tests, & have a bareback session....Avoid Greek (anal sex)...

I guess we could have an entire thread on the subject of high end call girls...:woohoo:

10. I think you may have missed the point. Interstate 15 is what connects Las Vegas to L.A.
Edited on Wed Feb-03-10 06:08 PM by cherokeeprogressive
If you continue north of Vegas on I-15, you pass through Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and Montana. Not a whole lot of people traveling south on I-15 to L.A. cuz there aren't a lot of people in the aforementioned states.

Of course we Californians know there are places east of us. We call them suburbs of L.A. :hi:  :spray:

14. I-15 in SLC hooks up with I-80.
Most people coming from the east will take I-80 into SLC and then connect onto I-15 into Las Vegas and then into LA.

8. Financial irresponsibility being foisted on another industry
in the face of the Wall Street Banksters needing to be bailed out by the people, which includes the gaming and entertainment and hospitality businesses in Las Vegas, it a tad ironic to say the least. Were the casinos 'too big to fail'? Did they take tax payer cash and reward their own failures with huge bonus money?
Wall Street is the picture of financial irresponsibility to most Americans after what we have seen the last couple of years. We accept no substitutes.

11. Actually you are misinformed, DI - Las Vegas' modern boom was started by railroad developers
In the late 19th century. It's always been an important junction.

Which, even I'll admit (though I call it home), is a rest stop on the way to gambling in Vegas.

17. Salt Lake has more to offer. :)
If you're going to ski PC, or any of the resorts in the area, it is smart to stay downtown and ride up. It's a bigger city, so it's cheaper, and you have a boatload of options. PC is nice. But small and gets cluttered very fast. Especially during Sundance.

Though it is not as glamorous and is a lot colder over here! :) My Grandma lives near Mohegan Sun and she loves to gamble...I have never been but it is a big thing around here.

26. I'm reading this over and over again . . . and I'm just failing to see what the big DEAL is.
Obama didn't at ALL say anything bad about Vegas. Not a thing. One could substitute Disney or Paris in his comment and it STILL wouldn't be a negative connotation.

Again, all of these people getting all huffy about this are people who WANT to be mad at him just because.

politically correct, is factually correct. People DO go to Vegas to gamble and end up blowing a ton of money. No one can deny that.
