Rep John Campbell, CA (R) said "People should be panicking"
He said that to Dana Bash of CNN about the president's proposed budget. The video was just aired.

Hyperbole - their favorite tool.

6. when i lived in new york
there was a building which flashed the numbers for the debt -- then it would flash our share. i saw it everyday on my way to work. didn't bother me then. doesn't bother me now.

they also had a "doomsday clock".

7. Wasn't the debt sign in Times Square?
I grew up in NYC but left in 1976. I think the sign went up afterward. Or maybe I failed to pay attention! :D

13. I'm liking Norton a lot
We just got rid of my old protection software and went with the Norton suite that comes with our Comncast account. A little adjusting and getting used to it. But it's nice having it do it all.

14. When did we all start caring about the deficit?
It surely wasn't an issue in the 80s when Reagan was running up massive numbers.

Wasn't a few years ago, either.

Republicans. :eyes:

10. hey, you cretin, I didn't panic during reagan/bush, I didn't panic on 12/12/2000, I didn't panic on
Edited on Mon Feb-01-10 08:00 PM by niyad
9/11, I didn't panic during the 8-year national nightmare that was the bush/cheney debacle, I didn't panic when peaceful protestors were being tear-gassed all around me, I didn't panic when I was mugged, I didn't panic during the 10 or so earthquakes I have been through, I didn't panic when a dust devil picked up my car and nearly slammed it into a boulder, so, no, I don't think I will panic over a set of numbers--especially when a creep like you tells me I should.

a most sincere and heartfelt UP YOURS.

11. Only bed-wetters panic.
I swear, those clowns are afraid of everything, and they want us all to be needlessly afraid, too. Bunch of spineless ninnies.

The top 2% who hold all the wealth? Because yes, they should be panicking and I love it.
