United States facing 16% jobless figure by 2013
Official jobless, not the U6 measure.

Actually, not even Krugman is a saying that. But I post it as stimulation for all DU'ers who want the economy to fail.

9. Cowardice? I'm giving you the opportunity to call me out!
That's more than I can do for countless posters, swimming in glee on the occasion of any negative economic news.

2. I don't even think Doomster Roubini says that!
The economists' forecast that came out yesterday said 9.6% by the end of next year. Hardly prosperity, but better than now (10.2%).

Are these the same economists who said late last year we might reach 8.9% unemployment by the end of 2009?

5. Considering the crash in Q1, it's not an unexpected outcome.

6. That's like a Glenn Beck kind of thing isn't it?
"I'm not saying unemployment will be 16%, but is anybody saying it won't be?"

15. Someone who is unemployed now most likely does NOT want to hear
doom and gloom scenarios and would probably get angry at the bitter fail crowd here.

Looking for a job in this market the last thing you'd have patience for is hearing that it's going to get worse. You'd need all the propping up you could get and would hang onto any positive news that came out.

17. The unemployed that I know want to know the truth.
Save your "propping up and positive news" for
the oblivious.

Sane people want to KNOW when the tsunami will hit.

All you "stimulated" in me is my conclusion that you are not interested in positively contributing to this community.

16. I don't get it. Is this like, a sarcastic post, but you forgot the "sarcasm" smiley?
You're making fun of all the "doom is nigh upon us!" posters?

I could go along with that. There seems to be a lot of that going around on the left these days.

19. as someone who has been unemployed for a large part of the last 7 years
Edited on Wed Nov-25-09 10:25 PM by northernlights
was down to $14 in my checking account when I landed this *fabulous* job at a financial firm where I sit tethered to a phone with a 4 foot line taking calls from screaming, angry, narcissistic assholes who got tax forms in 2007, ignored them and now blame *me* that the IRS is after them; got 4 notices of small account balance fee, ignored them and now blame *me* for the fucking fee; interrupt me every time I try to answer a question or ask a follow on question and accuse *me* of interrupting their tantrums...got half-assed training and then am blamed by management for taking too long resolving calls...all for a princely $11.80/hour, all I can say is....

fuck you.
