"Did you really think it was going to be easy"
Words of advice from an 85 year old who has seen it all, the Depression, every war since WW2, McCarthy, the Red Scares.. onward and upward

"Did you really think it was going to be that easy"

You actually can apply that to anything in life, but specifically we were talking about change..politically

"Did you really think it was going to be easy"

I was hoping for a little less drama.. after all the years of swing upward of the right.. but they are entrenched in media in ways we just did not comprehend.

2. What easy? How long has it taken to get to this point? This is not a beginning, it's supposed to be
..... a victory march.

3. 8+ years of neglecting progressive causes is enough of a setback to equal a new beginning.

5. We have decades of inertia working against us.
A little positive energy would help.

9. Never did - expected change to be damn near impossible.
Certainly not achievable in less than a year. A mountain no man can climb; so the expectation that Obama could snap his fingers and produce immediate change is ridiculous.

I am disappointed so many of my fellow Democrats want instant gratification.

10. Good Post Right Before Thanksgiving
I know many DUers have right wing relatives they are going to be with this week. Thank goodness I don't, but reminding those people that change isn't easy, referencing the eight years of tragedy that preceded us, is a very good talking point for us to use. Thank you.

12. With the entrenched power of lobbyists and corporations today
I still find it difficult to believe Obama was elected but it did happen so there is a glimmer of hope but it is going to be very slow and difficult. Obama inherited a monumental mess but I still believe he has the temperament, mind set and guiding principles to eventually make some progress but he is going to have to go it alone. The "everything now" lefties are jumping ship in droves and the fringe right just keeps getting crazier and crazier. It has become increasingly frustrating to watch the spectacle as this man tries to quietly get this nation back on track.

17. Thank you for your wisdom!
I'm so glad you're there to tell us!
Too many people expected too much, too soon from our President!
We do not know what hurdles he has before him. . .we don't know what the REAL mess is that he inherited!
And he never promised us a "quick" fix, just changes. . .slow changes for this huge governmental problem!

I still have faith in our President! And I think he is getting a raw deal! And if we, his supporters, turn on him, it will be our fault that he can't progress toward his/our vision.

Please be patient. Please support him. He is a good man who is facing the most vitriolic attacks any presidents ever had to face this early in his presidency.

I am still an Obama supporter!
