The GOP is riding a voracious tiger.
The RW media and the fringe elements it feeds have little use for the Republican Party as such. Where Limbaugh was a fairly reliable spokesperson for the GOP, Beck and his ilk are wild cards playing their own game. Beck has made any number of suggestions that a 3rd party is the better vehicle for his special brand on lunacy. The trial balloons for a Dobbs presidential campaign are starting to rise. And the GOP Congressional Party thinks that they are directing the beast but they are likely to be devoured by their charge. The turmoil in the teabag movement is a harbinger of the internecine warfare to come. If Obama can get the unemployment rate moving downward and the Congressional Democrats can actually demonstrate that they are capable of governing by passing health reform, the RW and the GOP may marginalize themselves for decades.

1. The question will be will the internecine warfare be less in the Democratic Party
or the GOP. Who will be more split. That will determine if we win or lose seats next year and how many.
