I know some don't think it's much. But I feel good every time I go to bed knowing he is our president.

2. Keep clinging to that irrational emotionalism
It's a warm blanket of delusion and disassociation from reality.

6. Please tell me you're not going to ask for "Loyalty Oaths" like those right wingers during
the last Administration? Please don't demand that insanity?

Are you loyal to President Obama first, Jesus second, and last, the Constitution? :wow:

doesn't mean you have to lash out at those of us who are, to prove you're not a lock stepper. Support, is not hysteria. Up til now, your posts have been diplomatic and rational.

36. I for one am getting really tired
of people claiming that positive emotions such as pride and hope cannot live alongside rational thought and intelligence. Sorry, bud, but cynicism does not equal knowledge and superiority. It doesn't make you seem, or be, smarter. Joy and hope are everywhere. If they weren't, humans wouldn't have made it this far. OK I'm done.

4. My husband put it to me this way......
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 02:15 AM by FrenchieCat
when I told him that there was no way we could lose Massachussets to a dickhead, was there? (I look to him to talk me down often enough).

He said, Obama was always going to have a difficult nearly improbable job that would go against all odds when it comes to support....and this is just more of that. His improbable journey didn't end,
just because he was elected. He will have it harder than most during his entire presidency.
But he was prepared for that. He understands this. He will have to do with whatever he has to do,
whether with 60 Senators or not. It's not anything he ever banked on, having an overwhelming majority in both houses. He also understood that the 60 votes he does right now have, aren't really his.
....but I'll tell you now, he will not take his eye off the prize. That, you can put under your mattress.

Washington Post buries the lede about its Obama poll

Actually, the Post didn't bury the lede. The Post completely ignored it.

A possible lede? Obama's job approval ratings went up since December. (In terms of the bigger picture, Obama's approval ratings today is right where it was five months ago, according to WashPost numbers.)

But the Post article makes no mention of that fact--none--as the piece relentless lays on the negative news for Obama.
Behold:

"A year into his presidency, President Obama faces a polarized nation and souring public assessments of his efforts to change Washington, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Nearly half of all Americans say Obama is not delivering on his major campaign promises, and a narrow majority have just some or no confidence that he will make the right decisions for the country's future.

More than a third see the president as falling short of their expectations, about double the proportion saying so at the 100-day mark of Obama's presidency in April. At the time, 63 percent said the president had accomplished a "great deal" or a "good amount." Now, the portion saying so has dropped to 47 percent."

I repeat: Nowhere in the Post article about presidential polling does it report that Obama's approval rating went up this month.

If Brown wins, it will be harder for our president to accomplish what is necessary. That's why it's important that Coakley wins. Of course, you know that already but I think it bears repeating.
