Obama Live. National Lab Day will help students "get their hands dirty", need to recognize students
He mentioned the way that athletes are held in such great regard in America, and how we need to recognize other fields of achievement.

Yes, we do.

1. I've been waiting my entire life for a President to say this.
And as usual the MSM is completely ignoring it.

watching President Obama right now. He's highlighting several initiatives designed to boost science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Again, we're keeping an eye on this event for the President to hear what he has to say. Perhaps even see if he'll say something about the healthcare vote that happened over the weekend. But, we're NOT gonna listen in live, but we will certainly monitor the President's comments and bring to you any news if it is made today." She said all this while showing video of the event. :eyes:

4. The President mentioned that he hasn't once been asked about Education Policy by Media...
...during any significant pressers.

I don't have the precise context, but the point was that they don't care.

Education isn't sexy or controversial enough.

And he aims to change that.

9. Yep! And I do want to watch it again, some powerful things were said.
And I know he means it.

He gets a lot of crap from some progressives over his willingness to promote private partnerships with schools.

I'm in education and when I was a teacher I got three grants from corporations and these made all the difference in what I could do.

6. I saw him say that-that not one reporter asked him about Education policy YET...
and he's exactly right. They DON'T care. MSNBC covered Prince William's possible engagement to his girlfriend instead. :eyes:

11. Thanks for the reply, welcome to DU!
Yes, I think most of us trust Internet sources more than TV, but watch anyway.

Writing letters to sponsors of shows, like the Glenn Beck show, helps.

This country is coming out of a dark period of time, and I support and love our president.

YES WE CAN!
