Too Cool? Big Majority Approves Of Obama’s Temperament And Leadership

New CNN polling finds that the public is evenly split on whether Obama’s presidency has been a success, probably not the finding the White House was hoping for. But I wanted to flag another finding from the internals:

Please tell me whether you agree or disagree that Barack Obama has the personality and leadership qualities a President should have.

Agree 64%
Disagree 35%

I’m not sure how you square that with the frequent claim by pundits that Obama is too “cool” or “detatched,” or that he’s not engaging or taking charge, or that he’s not enough of a “daddy” or what have you.

Whatever problems the voters have with Obama’s policies, his temperament just doesn’t seem to an issue for them. They don’t seem to want him to flaunt his emotions more or throw his weight around more or treat voters like children. No matter how many times we’re told otherwise.

1. After 8 years of panicky overreaction on the part of cheney and his puppet
it's nice to have a man in the job.

I know the liberal media just don't get this. But it's the truth.

6. lol..
Yeah, he's got the right attitude for success and I think more issues need to be culminated before the average person knows about what all has happened this first year.

3. What does the 35% want? Dick Cheney?
Maybe he doesn't sneer enough or he should get angry and flub words. It is hard to imagine the temperament the 35% would prefer.

4. Well, considering that the last president had neither...
The 64% no doubt welcomes such qualities.

But this isn't to undermine the President's personal attributes...

7. Yep!

They'd like to see him pound his fist on the table,
wave his fingers in some faces,
shove legislation through regardless as to whether he has the votes or not,
and stomp his feet while at the bully pulpit,
and even shed a few tears while making a passionate that they will later claim,
was just "pretty words" when all is said and done.

They want a daddy, but only if Daddy does as they determine.

After all, "Yes, We Can" magically morphed into "Yes, He Can, and he should do so ASAP with fire coming from his nose" as of January 20th.

9. He's cool as a cucumber and smart as a whip.
He gets the job done and doesn't feel the need to brag about it.
