Do what you want and think what you want --but black and white pronouncements aren't too convincing
Again and again I see these official sounding pronouncements from posters about Obama being against us (or a group of us) or the counter argument that on every issue he is doing everything right or nothing wrong.

Both statements are wrong and I'll bet the vast majority of readers here recognize them as such. If you post those sorts of things --you are undermining your credibility with most readers right away and introducing doubt into whatever your new observation/point is.

Attached to those threads are comments displaying the back and forth of "Obama's a corporatist" (for example) argued back with, "well, you just hate Obama and everything he does" and on and on and on.

You know, I get it okay?

First, only some of us are always for or against what Obama is doing at any given moment. If you are posting comments with "cheerleader" and/or "Obama-hater/whiner/pony-lacking" with any regularity at many different posters, then you are probably just wrong because most people here have more complicated perspectives than that.

Second, if you don't have a more complicated perspective than that --you are a bore, predictable, unbelievable. You are possibly as boring as posters who tell you how to post on DU. :P The thing is, if the average reader here knows what you are going to say just by seeing your screen name, maybe that's something for you to think about.

This post isn't about being nice to each other. DU would be the NPR of discussion boards if we all started writing in the same measured tones. Besides, there is a place to vent and get angry and we can do it here.

All that said, if you are going to lash out and vent and find an enemy of a fellow poster here, shouldn't you be reasonably sure they are what you say they are before doing so? And why should you care? Here's why: movements need to gain supporters to succeed, not shed them.
