CO Bennet: Shows spine, will vote on HCR even if that means loosing job.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/11/22/freshman-dem-passing-health-care-reform-worth-losing-my-seat/

Where to contribute for him??

Washington (CNN) – A freshman Democratic senator said Sunday that he will support his party’s efforts to pass health care reform legislation even if that means losing his seat in next year’s midterm elections.

“If you get to the final point and you are a critical vote for health care reform and every piece of evidence tells you if you support the bill you will lose your job, would you cast the vote and lose your job?” CNN’s John King asked Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado on Sunday’s State of the Union.

“Yes,” Bennet bluntly and simply replied.

Bennet was appointed by Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter to replace Sen. Ken Salazar, who stepped down from the Senate to serve as President Obama’s Interior Secretary. Bennet, who was superintendent of the Denver public school system prior to his appointment, will have to seek election to the seat for the first time in 2010.

1. I agree, let's give positive reinforcement

If it's all about money anyway, let's at least let them know that "the people" have both money AND votes, and we'll use 'em.

2. he was inspired

by the groundswell for Andrew Romanoff. (a potential primary challenger) Andrew is well liked and is the former speaker of the Colorado house. Bennets vote on the "cramdown" (Bankruptcy bill) Angered Romanoff and most of the solid Dems in this state.

As well as HCR was going to be his downfall if he did not vote for it. We made sure Bennet knew that.

Bennet got an ear full for voting against the Bankruptcy bill, and when he saw state Dems looking at him sideways. (yeah us community organizers)
He learned real quick what side of the issue Will butter his bread... (if ya know what I mean.)

So really the question is backwards. Bennet knows he WILL LOOSE HIS SENATE SEAT, if he should vote against Health care reform, for any reason!
Republicans are pushing the propaganda that Dems will loose if they vote Yes. this is a misnomer.

I urge everyone to follow suit in "convincing" your B-D/conservative Dem to vote YES.

3. Say what you like about Bennet's motivations...
...but I assure you, if Obama hadn't scooted Salazar into Interior, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

Because Salazar would find a way to justify voting against HCR no matter what.

5. The article that I read said he's scared the PROGRESSIVE wing of the party will primary him.
If that's the case, he's not so much "courageous" as he is responding to a threat from the liberal wing.

Sounds like another "centrist" Dem who is feeling the heat from the Left side of the party. Good deal.

10. don't contribute to him - he's already got enough Washington
insiders giving money to his campaign. If you want to give money to a Democrat, send it to Andrew Romanoff, who is challenging Bennet in the Dem primary. Romanoff was the consensus choice of Coloradans until Ritter appointed the unknown Bennet.
