Dalai Lama says Obama not soft on China
(AP) – 1 hour ago

NEW DELHI — The Dalai Lama defended President Barack Obama from criticism that he has been too soft on China, saying Sunday that the U.S. leader just has a different approach to dealing with the Asian giant.

Obama made his first trip to China as president last week and has faced criticism that he didn't do enough to press Beijing on Tibet during his meetings with senior Chinese officials.

"Obama is not soft on China; just has a different style," the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader said in an interview aired on Indian television.

The Dalai Lama did not elaborate on those comments, but he did address criticism that Obama didn't meet him when he visited the United States in October.

"I am not disappointed that Obama has not met me yet," the Dalai Lama told New Delhi Television.

He said he believed Obama would discuss Tibet with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh when the two meet Tuesday in Washington.

2. Shouldn't we be throwing him under the bus right about now?
It is soooo cool to criticize Barack Obama for everything he does or doesn't do.
me thinks someone forgot to hand the Dalai Lama his daily talking points!

3. Odd isn't it......
There were endless threads about the Dalai Lama and how Obama was dissing him just a couple of weeks ago. You'd think same folks would have something to say about what the Dalai Lama is staying today.

Really odd!

5. But, not so odd when you know the pattern..
The Pattern of Whining to within an inch of their lives bc they think they smell blood and then when it doesn't work out for them ..they're on the hunt for the next big fail push.

4. Well this shoots down more than a few whiners
who were Wailing the other night that PO "sold us out to the Chinese". Freakin' hysterics.

Makes me admire the Dalai Lama even more because he knows things don't always happen right when others think they should.

Oh, the whining that went on and on about this.. "I am not disappointed that Obama has not met me yet," the Dalai Lama told New Delhi Television."

9. Meh
I don't hate Obama, though I do criticize him when I disagree and praise him when I agree with him. I also didn't think he'd sold us out to China. But I really can't be bothered to give a damn about what the ousted ruler of a brutally theocractic government thinks either. That may be what's causing the lack of responses. Seriously, look up the living conditions of the actual peasants. China is worse, but that doesn't make what they were under to begin with good. It was comparable to the old caste system in India.

11. I wonder what Rahm did to get him to say this
because the Dalai Lama is obviously now just a corporate-controlled, DLC pawn.
