Bolivia wants answers from the U.S. Embassy

Bolivian government has ordered the U.S. Embassy charge d' affaires, John S. Creamer, to present his butt at 1700 hours tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Foreign Ministry to explain alleged embassy links to the indigenous leaders of a march protesting a proposed highway through indigenous lands.

Acting Foreign Minister Carlos Romero said the government has a registry of telephone calls made by embassy official Eliseo Abelo to indigenous leaders "coincidentally" before the protest march began and during the march last week.

Romero said that if there were political motives and interference (by the U.S. Embassy) in the protest march, that would be a "worrying scenario." Romero said it was "extremely urgent" for this to be cleared up.

--------- Wonder if embassy official Abelo works under the guise of USAID -------------

1. Jesus H. Christ. They are only allowed there now because of the grace of Evo Morales
after wildly abusing their position under George W. Bush.

Rabs. this is something I honestly didn't expect to hear during President Obama's term concerning relations with Bolivia.

Of COURSE I believe it. It's EXACTLY the kind of thing they were doing which got their ambassador Phillip Goldberg thrown out earlier.

So glad you have alerted those of us who really care. I hope to hear everything possible about this.

You probably remember when the Defense Department spirited away the portable hand-held missiles by going behind the sitting Bolivian President once they knew Evo Morales would be the next President, and getting the higher military officers to help them steal those missiles which they shipped to a US base in Texas, just to make sure Morales didn't get control of them. (They were Chinese missiles, not given by the U.S. military.)

Filthy dirty bastards. Rec.

3. U.S. Embassy accused of meddling and violation of Geneva Convention

Bolivian govt. read the riot act to Acting Deputy Chief of Mission William Mozdzierz today.

Acting Foreign Minister Carlos Romero told Mozdzierz that the embassy had violated the Vienna Convention of 1961 by meddling in Bolivia's internal affairs -- by having an embassy official make telephone contacts with the indigenous leaders of a week-old protest march.

Of course Mazdzierz denied it. "The government of the United States has nothing to do with the indigenous march."

-------------------
Originally the charge d'affaires, John S. Creamer, had been summoned to appear today at the Foreign Ministry, but Mazdzierz went instead. Must be some sort of diplomatic protocol, or maybe a snub by the embassy.

Looked up Eliseo Abelo, the embassy advisor on indigenous issues. He is on the staff of the Comercial Section.

But there was something else. Note the officials in CAPS (mine). Strange that the embassey needs SEVEN POLITICAL officers in such a small country.

But then there is EVO.

4. That's impossible to justify, isn't it? They must feel they can get by with
since the President is only a ####ing Indian, as the racist separatist P.O.S.'s call him.

We remember so clearly when Philip Goldberg was caught by a TV news crew sneaking into Santa Cruz after midnight to have a private meeting in a building with members of the violent racist separatists there. They got the arrival and departure all on tape.

That list showing so many "political advisors" in a country with so few people is unforgiveable. Unnatural, and a dead givaway.

Jesse Helms is probably purring in his grave.
