Canary Island Gov''t Studies Cuba 5 Case
Madrid, Nov 6 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Canary Island Parliament, Antonio Castro, promised to study the case of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly imprisoned in the United States since 1998 for protecting their country from terrorist attacks.

Spokespeople for the three parties, Canary Island Coalition, the Socialist Party and the People's Party, promised Olga and Adriana they would analyze details of the legal process that ended in 2001 with long, harsh sentences for Five, even though it was never proved they had jeopardized U.S. security.

The party spokespeople agreed the men's human rights had been violated, and that the trial held in Miami, a stronghold of Cuban-American right-wing groups, was rigged and lacked solid evidences.

The Spanish politicians said they would look into the possibility of carrying out a concrete action and influencing the U.S. government to achieve the release of the Five.

2. In this context you can regard
Canary Islands as being part of Spain , which they are , which also makes them EU. So - don't be sarcastic because of their diminutive size.

Excellent idea, very glad to see this news. Thanks.

And, if so, what?

This is an artist rendering of the cells in which each the five are imprisoned, in US Supermax prisons, 23 hours a day. There are no photos.
