La Macarena (Colombia); Largest common grave in Latin America

No names, only numbers.

About 800 campesinos from the region met with the delegations.

Six Euro deputies, a delegation from the United States, Colombian opposition politicans (Piedad Cordaba and Padre Javier Giraldo among them) today (Friday) verified the existance of the common grave. Number ranges from 2,000 to uribe's government figure of 450. The graves are NN (No Names) with a number and the year of burial. (Numbers were once a person.)

Campesinos told the delegations Colombian army helicopters would bring the "false positive" cadavers there for burial. There are said to be other clandestine common graves in the area. The Macarena burial ground are next to an army base.

1. Hope it didn't put the US out too much to officially attend this event.
That way we do know they know about it, anyway, regardless of their attitude, and silence about Uribe'a government's atrocities.

2. Have not seen who comprised the U.S. delegation

But highly unlikely it had anthing to do with the U.S. Embassy. Suspect it was a human rights NGO from the United States.

If I find out, will post.

3. avarito --- it's a smear by the enemies of democratic security

uribito went down to the army base at La Macarena and said the accusations of a common grave (with maybe up to 2,000 NN (No Name) victims were a smear against his "democratic security" and the armed forces.

Today we made "a tranquil trip, we found a runway in good condition, citizens who smile, children who no longer wait to be recruited by the guerrillas, but by the civic police, an armed forces with expression, with the face of victory, hope for the nation."

Guess alvarito did not stroll over to where the graves are, right next to the base.

4. He is disgusting. Not a trace of conscience. It's a miracle the people can listen to his speech
without shouting at him. Of course, they have no where to hide from his murderous wrath if they draw his attention.o

So he called out the human rights activists who were there, too. That's so typical. They'll be getting a load of threats right away from the paras who often follow up with the real thing.

Santos looks even crazier, too, if possible.

Funny how you can take a situation with the children of the householders getting very ill drinking the water which was contaminated by the presence of decomposing victims before the discovery was made in the first place, the result of hurried burial of a large number of people someone was trying to hide, a burial not planned, or managed properly.

And it's all part of a "smear campaign."
