1. Decree PCM-M-030-2009
Edited on Wed Nov-25-09 09:20 AM by Peace Patriot
This decree declares a “State of Emergency” nationwide, and places the regime’s “Secretary of State” inside the military command to oversee all activities related to the November 29 “elections.” This decree pretty much erases the previous order that the quasi-independent Supreme Electoral Tribunal would exclusively be in command of the Armed Forces in the month prior to the “election.” In other words, not even the window dressing added to give the vote a gloss of pseudo-independence could be tolerated by regime leader Roberto Micheletti, who has now placed a member of his Simian Council at that helm.

Unfriggingbelievable! It's a Karl Rove-Dick Cheney electoral wet dream!

2. Have to go back to strong arm tactics.
So much easier with technology. Where you can just twig the computer.

3. But ya gotta hand it to the Honduran people. The junta didn't need to declare a state of emergency
here in the USA, to hijack the government for their oil war and assorted grand lootings and other heinous crimes--although I think we came close to having a state of emergency declared here in 2006.** But the Honduran people require doubled down fascism to shut them up!

-----------------------------------

**(The parallels and contrasts are pretty interesting, and I think the issues--war and looting by the super-rich--are the same. Honduras is an important strategic asset for the Pentagon's planned oil war in South America. It is being hijacked to that purpose. And the US government, of course, had to be hijacked for Exxon Mobil's war on Iraq. It's all one junta, in a sense. The almost-state-of-emergency in the US came in the context of the 2006 Congressional elections when Rumsfeld was ousted and nuking Iran was taken "off the table." The talk about nuking Iran had reached fever pitch just before those elections. It's my guess that this was a Daddy Bush orchestrated counter-putsch to rescue Junior from Cheney-Rumsfeld's armageddon. Bush Sr, top military brass and assorted uppermucks gave Bush/Cheney immunity from impeachment/prosecution in exchange for, a) not nuking Iran, b) Rumsfeld's head and c) leaving the White House peacefully when the time came. Diebold & brethren then permitted the Democrats to 'win' the 2006 congressional elections, although they installed enough "Blue Dogs" and Pukes to keep the Iraq War and all the looting--including that final "Financial 9/11" in September 2008--on track. The military brass didn't want to nuke Iran (probably because China and/or Russia were threatening to come into it, on Iran's side), and so, to proceed with nuking Iran, Cheney-Rumsfeld would have had to lock down this country using their most loyal minions in the military establishment for a putsch within the putsch, at the Pentagon, and also to control Congress and other entities/people who might rebel. After "the Deal" that Bush Sr brokered, Nancy Pelosi (who had blurted out that "impeachment is off the table" just after the 2006 elections) went on a high profile trip to the Middle East to deliver the word to Israel, Syria and others that the war on Iran was off. Her trip coincided with the British sailors incident--Iran caught British sailors in Iranian waters--which may have been one of the "Gulf of Tonkin"-type incidents intended trigger the war. It ended amicably because the war was now "off the table."

(We may have been close to a "state of emergency" in 2004 as well, to be used to keep Bush/Cheney in power if Diebold & brethren couldn't do the job. The 'election' technology was not fully operational yet in all states--and notably not in Ohio. Cheney flew to Hawaii (of all places!) two days before the 2004 vote. This was a ridiculous waste of a Puke VP's time two days before a very close election. (The Pukes never get many votes in Hawaii.) So why did Cheney do this? I think the plan was to put his plane into a false jeopardy scenario on the trip back to California, to throw the big voting population of Southern California into chaos with a state of emergency there and perhaps in other large cities where the Democrats do well. They were into using "terrorist" threats for certain purposes. It has since been disclosed that all those "orange alerts" just prior to the 2004 election were phony (intended to scare people, and probably part of the state of emergency scenario), and at least one phony "terrorist alert" was used in Ohio to bar press and public from the vote counting. Most election integrity activists and investigators know that John Kerry won that election. Rove/Diebold, et al, stole it from him, but if their schemes hadn't worked, a state of emergency would have been the next step to keep the junta in power.

(I think this state of emergency in Honduras has a similar purpose. It is essential that this war asset be retained. This explains WHY such extreme measures are being taken to crush the Honduran left, and why Obama is risking the alienation of the entire region and the utter collapse of his stated policy of "peace, respect, and cooperation" in Latin America (esp. re Brazil). President Zelaya proposed converting the US military base in Honduras to a commercial airport. The US cannot permit that to happen. And why is it so important? Because, in a war scenario, the US base in Honduras is a "lily pad" for USAF operations in the Carribbean, off Venezuela's oil coast, and the newly reconstituted US 4th Fleet also uses port facilities on Honduras' long Caribbean coast. With these Honduran war assets, the seven new US military bases in Colombia, adjacent to Venezuela's oil region, and new bases in Panama, the US military has Venezuela's main oil reserves and operations surrounded. If a leftist government were in power in Honduras, they could be barred from using their Honduran assets or lose those assets entirely. Honduras is now surrounded with countries with leftist governments--in Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala. They would get no cooperation, in a move against Venezuela, from these countries, and none from Brazil. While they've gained military bases in Colombia and Panama, they've lost their base in Ecuador (leftist government, big oil reserves, on Colombia's border to the south). They cannot lose any more bases in this region--Central America, Caribbean, northern region of South America--and prosecute a successful war plan to topple the Chavez government and commandeer Venzeula's oil states (the northern states) (probably with a civil war strategy, as they rehearsed late last year in Bolivia, and manufactured border incidents--a la "Gulf of Tonkin"--as they rehearsed early last year in Ecuador.)
