5. Sometimes I despair. Not often. Just sometimes.
$38 million? That's less than John McCain paid for the coup ($43 million to the coupsters, from the "International Republican Institute," via the USAID).

ALL US taxpayer money.

 :puke: :wtf: :argh:

I don't know if this had been talked about here, but - there it is. Use Google Translate for the french article.

8. It has been touch on but not developed.
It has been evidenced as complicity not necessarily as intent. Also the fact a returning Zelaya could not land at the US base.

9. From the article, something hard to overlook: the base commander did the Aristide "kidnapping."
In his article of June, 29, 2009, Thierry Meyssan submitted that the overthrow of President Zelaya in Honduras <1> had been orchestrated by SouthCom. Moreover, the French edition of his article (through the caption of a photograph which was unfortunately not reproduced in a certain number of foreign sites) underscored the fact that the commander of the US military base at Soto Cano is none other than Colonel Richard A. Juergens, who had already supervised the "kidnapping" of Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide according to a similar scenario.
Col. Juergens knows how to treat the "little people" well, when it comes to photo ops.

10. You can't help but wonder - what if we flip the script here?
Just suppose Uribe is forcibly removed from Colombia by his military. Suppose Chavez's Venezuela had contracts and all this support to the same military installation from which Uribe was flown out of Colombia.

Not just Fox, but *all* the news networks would be all over it. Wall-to-wall coverage about evil, anti-democracy Chavez. Pat Robertson would likely be back in full swing. I can hear him now "I told you we should have taken him out"...

But when the U.S. does it, you have to dig and dig to uncover the truth. It's unbelievable. Chomsky is totally right - any fascist dictator would be impressed with the propaganda in the United States.
