Bravo, Bolivia, for kicking out U.S. DEA
December 2, 2008
As George W. Bush was on television mouthing his usual untruths enhanced with his ridiculous facial contortions while speaking of Bolivia, Amy Goodman on Democracy Now (LINK TV) was interviewing, in person, President Evo Morales of Bolivia.
Morales is the first democratically elected indigenous president of Bolivia. Bravo, Bolivia. Morales is kicking out the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, which is violating the sovereignty of Bolivia and promoting the cocaine drug trade in his country. Bravo.
Bolivia is very smart to make no deal with the Bush administration regarding free trade. What a disfavor free trade is to the world, ruining indigenous lives and the ability to survive and prosper in one's own country. It feeds only the greed of the corporate piggies.
The U.S. free-trade policy destroys the hope of indigenous populations, works them cheaply, uses up their lives and corrupts their leaders, who become co-abusers with the gluttonous corporations.
