Clinton, Obama: Include all of us
http://unionleader.com/article.aspx?headline=Clinton%2c+Obama%3a+Include+all+of+us&articleId=491c03d9-f9e1-4653-9688-7c0a0a9731ef

Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama yesterday urged ABC and WMUR-TV to include fellow candidates in this weekend's televised debate.

ABC and WMUR have established criteria that will likely limit participation to four or five candidates in the Republican and Democratic debates airing Saturday night.

In a statement released yesterday, Clinton said: "I believe in the true spirit of the New Hampshire process; the candidates who have participated in past debates should not be excluded from this one."

Obama expressed similar views.

"The voters of New Hampshire deserve to hear all the Democratic candidates' views on who can best lead America in a fundamentally new direction, and that's why I urge these networks to allow full participation in this week's debate," Obama said in a statement.

But in an interview with UnionLeader.com, John Edwards said he is staying out of the issue.

"I don't get to set the rules for the debates. I'll let the people who are in charge of the debates set the rules. And I'll be there," Edwards said.

...snip...

...this reminds me of Edwards stance with his 527 groups. "I can't tell them to stop, legally."

...snip...

Edwards has repudiated the efforts of 527 groups in general. But he has not called his former campaign manager, Nick Baldick and asked him to shut down the Alliance for a New America, which has spent more than $700,000 on positive pro-Edwards television ads in Iowa.

Edwards campaign aides insist that, if in doing so, Edwards would violate a legal prohibition against coordination if he directly intervenes in the internal operations of an outside group.
But campaign finance lawyers do not agree with that interpretation of the law. There’s nothing in the law that would prevent Edwards from calling Baldick and chewing him out, or from asking him to cease operations.

2. JE is out for himself. He doesn't give a rat's ass about us, he's
a lawyer and wants to win this case. That's the mindset. God help us all if he gets the nom. Personally, and I may be very biased in this, I don't think he'll do well in Iowa. These are smart people who can see right through him.

4. I don't trust him.
And I don't care who is reading this.
He wanted to kick everyone out of the debates back in the spring - remember?
Just another example of JE standing up for the people.
