Biden met with Bill Gates yesterday.
Wow - he had quite a day yesterday.
First getting a briefing on nuclear and biological weapons ---- with my governor.

And then off to meet with one of the richest men in the world.

From the Marc Ambider:

Yes, that _was_ Microsoft co-founder/philanthropist Bill Gates who showed up at the Obama transition offices in Washington today.

All that an Obama spokesperson would say is that Gates met with Vice President-elect Joe Biden.

(Update: a transition spokesman e-mails: " The Vice President-elect and Bill Gates met today at the transition headquarters to discuss a wide-range of issues, including global health and development, as well the need to improve resources for secondary education, particularly for community colleges.")

It's not known whether Gates had any other transition-related meetings or whether Biden will soon meet with Steve Jobs for the sake of appearances.

Earlier, Gates spoke before a capacity crowd at George Washington University. He urged the Obama administration to follow through on its committment to double the foreign aid budget to $50 billion. According to the Washington Post, Gates had high praise for Washington, D.C. schools superintendent Michelle Rhee.

A busy little bee. (I just want to play with my new smilies)

2. Interesting indeed
I know someone who works with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation outside of Cleveland. He is very impressed with what Gates has set up.

My TV thing is down right now, so I haven't seen any news since last weekend. :(

3. Bob Graham was on Colbert last night talking about the briefing he gave Biden and Napolitano
It was not good, we are actually less safe from WMD's now, thanks to Bush and his invasion of Iraq. We have done nothing to stop the spread of terrorism, we made it worse. I am very happy Biden will be our VP and Obama's other picks, we really need them right now.

4. I know - it is such a good thing to have Biden with his foreign policy expertise
right by Obama's side. Hillary will make a great SoS, but when it comes to in-depth knowledge about foreign affairs, Joe is light years ahead of Hillary.
