1. Kickin' waiting for you guys.
(Tapping foot, looking at watch)

I'm going out to get nachos and tacos (I have a NEED for them). Hopefully you guys will have had a chance to see this by the time I return. Joe REALLY lets some zingers fly.

I'm hoping there will be some video somewhere.

Adios!

13. Took my time -- (obviously)
Lively Mexican restaurant (in the bar), the Baseball All Star Game was on TV, lots of happy, laughing people around, I was waited on, and reading what is promising to be a great book!

17. It's called The Historian.
It's probably one I wouldn't have picked up on my own, but there were pages of rave reviews (on the cover - not as gushing on amazon, naturally). I just read a review on amazon saying that after the 300th page it slows down, so I'll keep you posted if I think it's worth a read AFTER I get past page 300. :).

Here's what it says on the cover:

"Breathtakingly suspenseful and beautifully written, The Historian is the story of a young woman plunged into a labyrinth where the secrets of her family's past connect to an inconceivable evil; the dark reign of Vlad the Impaler and a time defying pact that may have kept his awful work alive through the ages. The search for the truth becomes an adventure of monumental proportions, taking us from monasteries and dusty libraries to the capitals of Eastern Europe -- in a feat of story telling so rich, so hypnotic, so exciting that it has enthralled readers around the world."

I've found that when I finally do read books like this that are wildly popular, I'm glad I did even if I didn't think it would be "my type of book". We'll see about this one (which now has a guacamole splat on it.)

posted on that other thread too, but it belongs here as well. Long, and familiar to many of us, but excellent. Really want to hear the live thing, though - we'll have to keep watching for archive at

"Veep veep! Get outta the way VP hopefuls. Biden is coming."

I'm on the first page of comments, and it's a Biden love fest! Well deserved!!

25. Awww -- from the comments on HuffPo.
"Biden is my hero."

I kinda got teary when I read that. I'm STILL reading through the comments. Absolute raves for Joe with VERY FEW negs thus far. ANd when there is a negative, the Honorary HuffPo Biden Brigade rushes to the rescue!
