I'm watching the Senate on C-Span hoping to get a glimpse of Joe!

Kennedy argued on the economy and how severely the American people have been hurt.

A Dem (sorry, can't remember who) argued for Native American health care -- heartbreaking stories.


Now, it's up for a vote on some Defense bill, which I THINK we want to pass as it includes a retroactive pay raise for the troops.

I'll let you know if I see Joe!

1. UPDATE --

I don't understand the vote. They named the Senators who voted "Aye" (Dole was among them, so maybe I was wrong thinking it was a good thing). None of the "good guys" were named -- then it was said "none of the Senators voted Nay. I know Kennedy WAS there but it appears like he didn't vote on this -- and now it sounds as though votes are dribbling in?

Feingold just voted No

Apparently more people are showing up -- Kennedy just voted "aye" -- still no sign of Joe. :-(

Saw Joe walk in, walk across the floor and go up to the table -- he voted Aye. I'm so glad he's back! Dodd voted Aye, too.

ha - I used to do that after the 2004 election - turn it on and wait for Kerry.

8. I was watching it online -- TEENY little screen.

Whenever I'd see a head of white hair I'd gasp and go "Joe? Is that you?"

Then a bunch of people came streaming in. I think they'd gone elsewhere and just returned when the vote was announced. So I saw him enter the room, walk by a bunch of people and go directly to the table to state he was there (or whatever they do).

I could just TELL it was him, and then the person(?) said "Mr. Biden". Joe kind of waved and the person said "Mr. Biden, Aye."

So he was leaving the room and stopped a few times to say hey to some people on the way out. A few handshakes and shoulder slaps.

If anyone can handle it, Joe can. And I think Dodd can too -- they've seen so many Senators come back from the campaign trail. I'm sure there's some self deprecating humor.

But your statement makes me think. Either Obama or Clinton will have to come back -- THAT would be more awkward. And THEN, if the nom doesn't win the election -- can you imagine? S/he'd be as unpopular as the kicker blowing the field goal and losing the game.
