The caucuses have to go
Stories out of Nevada. Just as ridiculous as Iowa:

1. Unbelievable - isn't it?
I never paid much attention to any of this before.

And to think that it's a caucus is what begins the whole election season.
I am so sorry that Biden and Dodd spent so much time in Iowa. Maybe they should have concentrated on NH.

2. I'm wondering if they're looking back
and thinking the same thing. So much time and money spent on that circus people call a caucus.

3. It's probably why Dennis ignored them....
that occurred to me afterwards.

4. What I wouldn't give to know what Biden is thinking these days.
As I was watching the debate, I kept wondering if he was watching it too.

17. It was an eye opener watching the Iowa caucus on tv 4 years ago
It really looked un-american and disorganized. This year I missed watching it as I was on vacation. What little I got to watch was even worse (was sitting in a restaurant). By the way pirhana, have you ever driven from Globe to Show Lo? We came back through there and was shocked and awed by those terrific mountains. It was snowing and the road winding and the cliff the highest I have ever seen. Terrifying actually!

Anyway, the caucuses are terrible and so is the electoral college. It's like we don't have enough sense for each of our votes to count. Imagine Gore being president instead of george.....

Confession time, I am now an Edwards supporter. Wellllll, the other two have too many issues I can not reconcile. John at least talks the talk I like. I feel sure he would find a GOOD spot in his admin. for Joe, and it wouldn't be a token job.

6. Hi, I am a Kerry supporter and I like Biden also. I was sorry to see him out of the race.
He would have brought more change to Washington than the Clinton's would. I have become an Obama supporter by default- Senator Kerry's endorsement got me to thinking about the real possibility of change not only in Washington but in our party also. We really need new leadership there. The Clinton machine has ruled things for too long now.
Anyway, I didn't mean to get carried away with my post, I just noticed how active this forum has remained and I think that says a lot about all of you Biden supporters. I come in here once in a while to check things out. This time, I noticed your link regarding the letters of complaint regarding the Nevada caucus. I hope you don't mind if I use your link and bring attention to these letters in the Obama forum.
Thanks. Oh, and I hope that Biden is offered a cabinet role in a new Democrat administration.

9. Hi Wisteria!
Glad you dropped in. It is pretty amazing how active this group has remained since Biden dropped out and we have even gotten some newbies show up.

As for the caucuses, I have become more and more disillusioned with them. I have heard too many stories from both Iowa and Nevada that indicate that primaries are much fairer and more democratic.

11. I think it is
I think one reason the caucuses have not worked well, was the huge turnout of voters. They were not equipped to handle that in Iowa and it left too much room for hanky-panky.

12. I wonder what would cause a state to switch from primary to caucus?
I was thinking that in the "old days" -- there just weren't so many people. It may have worked much better back then.

13. As for Nevada
I believe I read that it was cheaper. Iowa went to caucuses years ago as a "party builder", but I think its time has passed.
