2. Goodyear's a good archaeologist
Prior to Topper, there weren't any legitimate claims for a pre-Clovis site in North America. Right now, he's got the most interesting site in the country. I don't envy him; his work is probably the most scrutinized research in the Americas right now. But if it all passes muster, Topper will end up being the most important archaeological site in North America.
