QUESTION: Re: Price Negotiation
Since I am buying new in the next couple of weeks, do you negotiate bike price like you do a car? Is there a blue book value and a bottom-line value?

I bought my Reflex and couldn't negotiate since there was a gas crunch at the time (not like there is now right?) :eyes:

But are bike negotiable just like cars? What is fair both to me AND the dealer?

1. I bought a Yamaha C3 is the past 6 months. No
luck negotiating the price, however, I found a new 2007 at a lower price than a 2008.

It depends on how many units of the bike you want are on the floor and how bad they need to move them.The big car dealerships often have a shitload of the popular models to move and they make their money from less markup on a large volume. Motorcycle dealers, not so much.

One thing is for certain though, you always have the option to head out the door. It looks like you have a good selection of dealerships in your area to choose from.

3. Sure you can
And check out cycletrader.com - a lot of the low price dealers can be found there if you search their classifieds. Depending on where you are you may need to travel a bit to get a good deal but unless you are going for the hottest/rarest model you can negotiate.
