From UHub.

Actually, I find myself a little appalled by both the stupidity of the marketing campaign and the hysterical overreaction of the authorities. I mean, this has got to be the most overblown case of littering in Massachusetts since Alice's Restaurant.

2. I'm getting a little pissy...
concerning all this. It seems to me that if the police are getting numerous phone calls, from all over the city about 'suspicious devises ...they would be expected to investigate...carefully. There was also a separate bomb threat at one of the hospitals. Early in the day, I heard one of the 'devices' were being described as 'circuit boards' with attached battery packs. I don't really get what people expected the police to do...nothing? Because one call is bogus, should they assume all are? Erring on the side of caution is not a bad thing. Next time, I for one hope they do the same thing.

6. My hubby came home yesterday..
and turned on CNN. He listens to BZ1030 in the car, so he'd heard all about it. He could not believe that CNN had a terrorist expert on saying this sounded like it could be an attack, when all he'd heard for hours on the local news was there was nothing to it, but police had to check it out. Just goes to show you how 'media' shapes perception, and how people take what is said and run with it.

5. I dunno....
They were up for three weeks and nobody said anything? It doesn't seem to me that people would ignore these things for that long and all of a sudden flood 911 with calls. If there was more than one call, I bet it was the marketing firm.

7. So, if we pass a law that says terrorists have to put big blinking lights on their bombs...
then we know we'll probably be able to locate their bombs within about two weeks or so after they plant them.

9. I'd rather see a law against political grandstanding
at the expense of the citizens. I expect to see the mayor and governor searching for political cover by the middle of next week. "we went with the best intel we had" .
