A `Perfect Storm' Is Rising To Oust Dick Cheney - A MUST READ
Edited on Thu Feb-01-07 04:47 AM by BigBearJohn
With the combination of the most somber and serious Congressional hearings since Watergate, and the opening of the trial of Vice President Dick Cheney's former Chief of Staff and National Security Advisor, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, for perjury and obstruction of justice, there is a "window of opportunity" for impeachment of the Vice President-and Cheney is jumping right through it.

In an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, when asked about the Senate resolution against the "surge," which had just been passed by the Foreign Relations Committee, Cheney boasted, "That won't stop us . . . we are moving forward . . . the President has made his decision."

In short, Cheney's own foul mouth, in bragging that the White House will ignore the Senate resolution against Bush's surge, just hours after the Senate committee passed the bipartisan Biden-Hagel-Levin measure, creates the "perfect storm" that could finally sweep Cheney out of the White House.

The exposure of Cheney's role in the Scooter Libby case, and his outrageous dismissal of the constitutional role of the Congress, affords the Bush family-which enlisted Cheney to craft George W. Bush's Presidential run in 2000-an opportunity now to take action to get him out.

3. Ain't Gonna Happen
You can join hands and chant around the mulberry bush all day, but Cheney isn't going anywhere. He isn't going to be "let go" like Rummy, or any one of the lesser players. And as long as that bastard is in power, he'll find ways to sleaze his way out of anything you throw at him. He'd serve Bush's head on a platter if it meant he'd walk.

19. Hey, s/he has the same right to be here as you.
I prefer my fantasy about Evil Dick being gone, too, but it's fair to say that it's a long shot.

15. You're right, but that doesn't mean that Cheney will get away with it.
Failure is the ONLY thing he's personally excelled at. His successes are due to affiliation and corruption, not talent or integrity. He is haunted by a string of mediocrity and failure, and he will ride that puny horse until it downs.

21. I think you may be right there is a lot of dirt out there.
You cannot afford to piss off your partners in crime even Bush may well understand that as long as his meds are working. Dick will stay as long as he wants to. We are headed for a Constitutional crisis.

2. Bush and Cheney are joined at the brain, it is IMHO only
wishful thinking Cheney will resign. Unless he dies both him and Bush will leave office at the same time. I am just not sure that will be on the 20th Jan 2009. :scared: :scared:

The more of those guys that are too damaged to partake in American politics ever again the better.
Business license revocations to follow.

edit: Ok, now that I've actually read the entire article, I'd just add that if Bush thinks getting rid of Cheney will help his own legacy, good. It's great to see infighting on the other side, and Bush is as deluded as he ever was if he thinks his legacy can be saved.

7. Pelosi is 3rd in line--right--if impeach bush-cheney goes also. Yet, it will
not happen---at least from Pelosi point of view--as it will be percieved as a power grab from the dems/pelosi

8. so what
let it be percieved as a power grab.... the people haven't done anything about the current power grab and it's treasonous in nature compared to a constitutional one...

10. Thank you BBJ, great read and very, very encouraging. Trying
not to get my hoped up too high....it seems we will never see these weasels pay for their crimes, but there is so much now and Fitz is so good at what he does.

I so hope "The Perfect Storm" takes them out.

Thanks again.

11. When Bush nominates Condi VP, Congess better send her packing.
When Cheney is removed or resigns, both the Senate and House must confirm whoever Bush nominates as VP. If Bush nominates a sycophant or adherent of unitary authoritarianism they'd better send the nominee packing. It matters. Any nominee they confirm will be taking the presidential oath when they finally fulfill their oath and impeach Bush.

24. He was also the only one Bush spoke of BY NAME...
as having given him 'good advice' during the SOTU
(read: He encouraged Bush to do EXACTLY what he wanted to do).

That wasn't an accidental name drop.
Lieberman is a republicant in Democratic clothing, and nominating him as VP would be seen as Bush being really serious about this 'bipartisan' shit without actually having to change course or try to compromise.

"The VP is a member of their own party, and they still can't siddown, shut up and let me do whatever I want come to an agreement."

Putting Lieberman in as VP would be the smart move, as far as Bush is concerned...and I hope to gods that it doesn't happen. :scared:
