A giant letter to Gore
Can we here at DU draft a long letter with all of our signatures and comments about how badly we want Al Gore to run? I mean a letter that really rocks! Actually send it TO him, not just his office where someone else reads it first. Or is this already being done by DraftGore.com and others? Is it a terribly boorish idea? Thoughts?

1. FORGET A LETTER.
Until Americans are willing to put THEIR ASSES IN THE STREETS TO SUPPORT HIM, I pray to all that is right, good and enlightened that he will NOT run. Al Gore is NOT the messiah who, having been SO DISSED by Americans and the SYSTEM you continue to ALLOW to control you, can "save" your johnny-come-lately butts.

5. So he should wait until he is sure he has enough support?
Edited on Sat May-26-07 05:16 PM by OmelasExpat
Doesn't that sound a lot like the Dems current "don't take a stand until we're sure we have the votes" strategy? The strategy that led the DLC to bail on Gore in 2000, and Kerry to bail in 2004?

And how do you that I haven't supported him on the streets? I have.

11. Excuse me, but often the best supporters are the "converts".
I supported Gore from the beginning, but I'll take every "johnny-come-lately" we can get!

4. I wrote a letter to the editer today
Edited on Sat May-26-07 05:09 PM by proud patriot
"Whether Al Gore runs or not I plan on voting for him to be the next President of these United States .
We owe it to him. To right the wrong perpetrated against him . I hope others do the same . Our country
has been aching for an honorable leader . I trust Al Gore with my son's future , with our planets future.
I trust that he loves the world and all of it's people. We need you Al . Here and Now I invite Americans
to start the Campaign. Whether or not Al declares his candidacy is irrelevant . Join Me please ."

6. If we talk Al Gore into running against his own best judgement, then
it is imperative that we go all out from day one this time. Al stood strong, but the dems did not go to Florida to protest the Pugs who obstructed the legal vote from Jeb on down or up, whichever one's perspective. I am chagrined that I didn't go.

9. Shouldn't we let Al make that decision for himself?

10. Here's the thing
Al will most certainly make that decision for himself. He and Tipper. The Draft Gore movement will play into it somewhat but he will figure out what's right for him and when he does, whatever it is, I am behind him 100%.

To (already been elected once) President Gore! :toast:

What do you think is holding him back?

13. It's a big decision
I'm sure he's letting it roll around in the back of his head while saving the world in other ways for the time being.

Besides, he doesn't need a 600 day campaign like the others. He doesn't have to work within the same constraints as everyone else.
