Crybaby
Sunday, 12 Dec 2010, 2:33 PM EST

(NewsCore) - Incoming House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), who has a well-known tendency to cry, will tear up again on CBS’s “60 Minutes” airing Sunday night.

Boehner has gotten teary in the past when discussing everything from the troop surge in Iraq to the bank bailout; the loss of his leadership position in 1998 to the Republican Party’s victories in the 2010 midterm elections.

According to a CBS report about its show, Boehner “cried several times . . ."

8. No, they escape responsibility..
... because they are bullies and they are not confronted nor challenged by a compromise seeking from the start - hence weak-appearing, "progressive" President who enters each battlefield strategically unarmed, yet begging not to be shot.

He's our chief PINO and is ashamed of the term liberal or progressive. And they know it.

11. their Democratic opponents have absolutely NO obligation to follow anything the President proposes
Edited on Sun Dec-12-10 03:18 PM by bigtree
. . . and they are under no obligation to go along with any compromise proposal the President might negotiate with that opposition. . . but they will.

Still obsessed with the President though, to the exclusion of the real opposition. It's an easy and cheap shot to blame the presidency for the Senate's acquiescence to republicans. The House has held up quite well against Boehner, and, the bills that the President supported passed the House over Boehner's objections.

7. Crocodile Tears.
I don't mind when people become choked up when dealing with issues that are, to them, sensitive and painful.

I despise those who use crocodile tears to manipulate their audience. boehner and beck are the two worst offenders currently in the public eye.

15. Can we be fair here?
If this were a male Democrat, would people still be shaming him for being emotional?

Really?

Not that I'm sticking up for the guy or anything, but shaming him for crying/being emotional sort of shames ALL men, doesn't it?

Makes it "unmanly" to cry...

20. So a man's right to express emotion is all tied up
in what Democrats think of him?

If he suffered some tragic personal loss, fuck him...he doesn't have the right to cry?

Lots of people think Ann Coulter is vile too. Does that mean she wouldn't have the same right not to be raped as other women?

23. So easy to speculate...
On what "would" happen to women if they were to cry.

And who is "defending him"?

I'm not. I'm defending his right, as vile as he may be, to cry as any human being has the right to do.

Many Republicans thought, and still do, that Teddy Kennedy was "vile". Would that have negated HIS right to cry if he had been overcome with emotion? Like...oh...when he gave the eulogy at his brother Bobby's funeral...

27. A woman would be out of politics
if she cried repeatedly, or even once, like Boner. She would be attacked viciously by the right for being too emotional, especially to handle our national defense. If you don't believe that, that's your perogative, but I know that she would be. Boner gets away with it BECAUSE he is male.

32. Um, you just negated your case...
by claiming that a woman would be viciously attacked by the right.

The right would attack a woman for literally anything.

Too emotional. Not emotional enough. Dresses like a man. Dresses too provocatively. Too dumb. Too smart.

Fill in the blanks.

Tears would only be one of a whole list of interchangeable reasons for them to launch an attack.

28. Oh, I see...
Well, I'll make sure to tell a few of the men in my life who are somewhat emotional that they
"need to get a grip".

Especially my six year old grandson, who is very sensitive. Man up, kid!!!! We don't want you growing up to be a fucking WUSS!

You know, I'm not saying that Boner's tears would break my heart or anything, but I do find it somewhat disgusting that people are actually shaming him for being ABLE to cry. And giving all sorts of excuses for it...

42. I think he's being manipulative
. . . and disingenuous, even without the crocodile tears. He speaks for corporations. He weeps for corporations. He speaks for and represents a coalition of indifference to the needs of the majority of Americans. He's weeping for that arrogant coalition's corporate ambitions.

34. It's not unmanly. It's unprofessional.
There's nothing wrong with crying in response to a powerfully emotional event, but to frequently cry on the job like Boehner does makes him look unhinged. If a Democrat I supported acted like that, I'd be embarassed.

16. Narcissists do that - emotion to the extreme.
Because they can't feel, they express 'emotions' by copying what others do - and then some; it's all an act. The intended audience eats it up.
