Democrats Beat Republicans in Poll With Opposition to Government Shutdown
Source: Bloomberg News

Americans, who voted for a divided government in November, say they want the parties to work together, with a majority opposing at all costs any federal shutdown over budget matters, a Bloomberg National Poll shows....9 out of 10 say they want Democrats and Republicans in Congress to cooperate to solve the nation’s problems, according to the poll conducted Dec. 4-7.

The Republican Party, a month after an electoral triumph that netted 63 seats and control of the U.S. House, gains in the U.S. Senate, and increases in state offices, remains unpopular, with a plurality having a negative view. Democrats do slightly better: A plurality have a favorable impression of that party....

President Barack Obama is more popular than either party, with 52 percent of Americans holding a favorable view, compared with 44 percent unfavorable. In an October poll, 55 percent held a positive opinion and 40 percent a negative one....

Obama’s re-election numbers are higher than those Clinton had two years into his first term, in a Gallup poll. In October 1994, 38 percent said he was worthy of a second term. He won in 1996 with 49 percent of the vote.

Our opponents are great at marching in lockstep goose step like the Fascists they seem to emulate. But then their Big Shot Billionaire contributors give them their marching orders IMHO.

We cannot afford to let our inability to close ranks defeat us. The time to close ranks for a worthwhile result albeit less than ideal, is fast dissapearing.

Time for us who know their history to let the lessons from the 20th century be known to all:
Right Wing
Super Wealthy Funded
Corporation
Controlled
Media
Propaganda Pumping
w/ Scapegoating

=Fascism

1. "a majority opposing at all costs any federal shutdown over budget matters"?????????????????????
At all costs? AT ALL COSTS? There is no logic whatsover to that statement. If the poll included a question like that, the poll is worthless IMO.

3. Yep. Clearly, they have no idea what they're saying "yes" to.

2. In the case of Hitler and Mussolini, fascism =
Extreme Nationalism. In the case of Stalin and Pol Pot extreme Communist Socialism.

And both followed hard times, Depressions and Revolutions.

5. Do you think that Bush's world
unilateralism was a form of Extreme Nationalism?

Or that the Cheney's and Bushies attacks on the
patriotism of any US citizens who opposed them
was some form of Extreme Nationalism?

7. Yes, I believe there was a certain amount of danger with respect to the way
Bush handled things after 9-11.

Clearly, Afghanistan should have been attacked, but I will never understand why the Congress (including Dems) granted him the authority to invade Iraq.

That was/is dangerous.

6. My thought was that "we" are those opposed to big
corporate money Big Shot Billionaire/Millionaire/s ruling the US of A.

I believe this same money is what fuels the tea party movement, not to mention
the very same Propaganda Machine that propelled the results in the past election.

If you say the Democrats are just about as bad as the Repugs/Tea Party types when it
comes to chasing this money, I would agree with you. In which case maybe we need
another political party, like say building on Bernie Sanders style of Independent
Party {NOT Joe Lieberman's - an abomination seriously chasing said money}.

IMHO

8. Ok, Now I think I understand--glad I asked.
P.S. Just in case you don't know, Bernie Sanders appears on the ballot as Independent, but self-identifies as a Democratic Socialist. First one in Congress to identify in any way as a socialist of any kind. (IMO, though, he votes populist.)

I'd back him, but I doubt he'll run. He'd be 72 when he took office and that is one taxing job (no pun intended).

9. Thank you and my respects. I would also advocate calling those
who brand us as socialist, firing right back, and labeling them for what they truly are:
FASCISTS
