They won't let you give directly to the show you like. They make you give to the whole station or network. Doesn't Barney make enough $ through merchandising?
2. Not since a negative experience pledging to a local NPR station
Back when I was in grad school living on $400/month: Soon after I called in my pledge, the pledge drive host got on the air and ridiculed my puny pledge, adding that it was far below their minimum pledge level. Haven't contributed to public TV or radio since.
4. The way my local station does it, you can donate during a certain show, to support for it.
And they have thank you gifts that are also from certain shows, so you can choose what you like best. That's the way my mother does it, waits to give until she can get a souvenir from a show she really likes. ;)
