I hope they are going to make sure that DHS has mucho-mega-funding, as well. I'm sure that creating and maintaining lots of Fusion Centers is not cheap, nor is all that ultra-expensive, hi-tech containment/control fear gear that we, thankfully, have to pay for to assure we are not terraists who might oppose our own protection and well-being.

In order that we be safe, there is a drastic need for more and improved authoritarian toys/tools so that they can keep the masses in fear and in line as they wake-up to the fact that their well-being is not even meaningfully on the table anymore. That can happen when you no longer have regular access to TV after becoming a member of the growing Underclass. Magic Spells can wear off with the shock and awe of it all.

2. oh, they LOVE deficit spending - as long as it further enriches the rich,

in a classic "starve the beast" strategy.
