Retired UK envoy confirms cablegate's embarassing assessment of Prince Andrew

Actually the US cables just touch the surface. The retired envoy who had many encounters with Andrew gives some jaw dropping examples of Andrew's incompetence and boorishness.



But the picture painted of an arrogant Prince prone to expletive-laden rants came as no ­surprise to one former high-ranking British diplomat who has witnessed, at close quarters, just how Andrew operates abroad.
Simon Wilson was Britain’s Deputy Head of Mission in Bahrain from 2001 to 2005 and was later the most senior British diplomat in Calcutta, with responsibility for eastern India, until he retired last year.
Here, from his unique perspective, the ­distinguished former diplomat gives an ­unprecedented - and devastating - insight into Prince Andrew’s performance in a role for which increasing numbers of people consider him unsuited.

4. Hardly chaff. This is an eye witness account of Andrew's incompetence

and it reveals that criticizing members of the the royal household is a career ending move. I found this behind the scenes look fascinating. If Wikileaks hadn't published the cables, i'm sure the envoy wouldn't have offered up his own experience.

3. I am convinced that revelations such as these are the real reason why

Julian Assange is being hunted like an animal. It has nothing whatsoever to do with 'state secrets'...it's all about revealing the buffoonery and corruption of the rich and powerful.
