Carlos Slim on Larry King
Carlos Slim lives in Mexico City, and is just the owner of TELMEX among other things. He is the richest man in the world... and what can I say... his relations with the people in Mexico are interesting. During the floods last year he doubled all that was given by people... not that it was much to him.

1. I gotta say, yes I remember the Domingo, the allowance
I did not learn to save until much later in life though. Fascinating interview, and nope ESL is not easy to follow, but easier to interview than Gates.

Unlike our billionaires he does thank others for his fortune...

And I did not know Sanborms (one of my favorite places) was his. He could give the Waltons quite the run, and at least there is no crazy prayers before work actually begins.

2. And it TOOK almost half the hour for us to see the truth
"Carlos Slim the richest man in the world, and we are honored to have him here."

I knew there was a point to the story...

Reinforcing the caste society.

Of course King will not go into the economic conditions that allowed Carlos to buy Telmex... anybody care for a serving of NAFTA and selling of PUBLIC utilities to the private sector?

3. er, be careful
He has outright called for a "billionaires union" to defend the "rights" of billionaires against nations.

4. Let me know when he give away 80% or more. I really don't think we can comprehend just what "world's
richest" means.

HE IS WEALTHIER THAN MANY SOVEREIGN NATIONS. THIS IS OBSCENE.

5. Yes, his wealth is higher than the GNP of Mexico
I understand what that means.

Why he is also one of the most powerful men in the country.
